The subtitle of this book, "Individual Networking / Preparedness For
Disastrous Times", was revised many times - in many different ways - at
the suggestion of early readers of the manuscript. While my emphasis is
in preparing for some Great Catastrophe, the principles of TRIADing
will apply over all time -- both before any calamity and long
afterwards.
The principles of TRIADing apply to everyone's life and there is no one
whose life would not, and will not, be better by applying them than it
would be otherwise. Nevertheless, in the world today, and especially in
North American society, they are principles that are poorly understood
and little applied. To face the challenges that most of us are going to
have to face in the next few years these are principles that we need to
immediately learn because it is going to be very difficult to get
through those challenges without them.
In the book Society AFTER Doomsday I described the LERN networking concept for communities. That is entirely different from the TRIAD networks presented here. BOTH are NECESSARY. The LERN networks are for communities and the TRIAD networks are for individuals. The following chart lists the distinctions between them. |
|
|
|
| Can be created immediately. | Can only be created after societal collapse. |
| Random and undefined network structure. | Specifically defined structure. |
| Created by individual choice. | Created by elections. |
| Useful for many purposes. | Designed for a specific purpose. |
| Unlimited population. | Structure and levels determined by population size. |
| Nodes created and abandoned randomly. | Nodes fixed by geographical location. |
| Membership determined voluntarily. | Membership automatically determined by geographical location. |
