In the land of the Meyan's there lived two tribes on the edge of a cliff. One followed the teachings of the Grand Old Priests and the other were considered the Blue Participants. Both felt that their beautiful and bountiful land was possessed by terrible demons that had to be exorcised for the land to continue to prosper. The Participants felt that to appease the demons that it was necessary that they burn down all the houses and buildings, which happened to be owned by the Priests, and the Priests felt that it was necessary to destroy all the fields where Participants worked to feed everyone. They both accomplished their remedies and were cold and starving so their enemies came and pushed them over the cliff. Okay, Bruce writes weird parables that no one can understand. So, don't worry about it. We had a wonderful Winter Solstice. Well over twenty people, probably over thirty, came to visit us during the week. There were ten days straight, except for the day I had surgery, that we had visitors. Surgery went well and half the stitches are to be removed on Thursday and the other half another week later. Video crew here for three days - but I was not very photogenic. Many radio show and other media interviews during the week, because of the 2012 thing, however, a great amount was accomplished this week. One massive task, among others, was that we have stored in the garage sufficient wood for the winter. Other major accomplishments also, but because I am so far behind on responding to emails and doing other things I only have time to mention one more in this newsletter. Great progress on the radio. All the parts had previously arrived and the four PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) came on Christmas Eve. The total expense for parts and boards was almost exactly a thousand dollars which we had because of Leslie's gift. Shipping and customs alone was almost $200. Once Adam has assembled the 4 prototype boards we will be ready to test them. We do not have as yet - an estimated assembly completion date. After assembly, and once Adam has determined electrical integrity - the next step will be to meet with Bob - to determine that the circuits are functioning as intended - and to tune the transformers and such as needed. Following that we will need Dave to do performance testing in the field. Carlton and I are very close to completing our analysis of the software design - and Darlene is keeping up with us regarding the programming - so perhaps completion of that, in preparation for field testing - is not very far off. Still manuals to write - packaging to be developed - production procedures to be decided upon - and other such hurdles to be completed, but hopefully things will go faster in the new year - than they did this year. But - we are ending the year - on a higher note than we have hit before! Some marvelous new plans being made for the coming year - but I won't write about them until next year, which is the earliest I will be able to send the next newsletter. It is three a.m. when I am writing this newsletter and later this morning we are off for Christmas dinner with Children and grandchildren. I wish you all have a joyful Christmas and New Year's.
