SAFE Ark Two Newsletter November 18th, 2012 Noting the News In a May newsletter I noted a sea change in Israel quoting my best Israeli source (David Dolan) that some events were the worst they had been since 1973. This week we can certainly see that playing out. I am not expecting major events until next year despite the intensity of the news this morning. We never know one day to the next - although the biggy remains Iran and there are many peripheral players in Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt. December Mayan 2012 date now just a month away - but again, not in my paradigm. I do think in the next 90 days we will see some significant activities on the financial front aside from the reputed 'cliff'. Just me. I am often wrong, but not always. I commented two weeks before the election about how all the employment statistics were so positive and how the numbers were so often just lies. Now two weeks after the election the official report is that the employment statistics are the worst that they have been in the last eighteen months. Who would have thunk! This week lots of riot/union/budget stuff from Europe which as of this week is supposed to have gone into a double dip recession. The whole Petraeus thing is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. I was reading/reporting in this newsletter, two weeks before it happened, that some were saying that there was within CIA a faction/plot/intrigue for an October surprise regarding Benghazi leading up to the Obama November election contest. One needs a flowchart to follow even the superficial reported parts. Among others was the 'ethicist' article that I mentioned being in the NY Times two weeks before the resignation. First denied but now confirmed and Klosterman is now right there on many of the charts. Same regarding the FBI reports to key political GOP members of Congress. Lots of generals and navy people resigning/fired. Talk, talk, talk about a coup. I hear from people advocating it. CERTAINLY NOT MY THING. Same story on secession, if you have been following that, but again CERTAINLY NOT MY THING. - Anyway I suspect a coup plan was nipped in the bud. As I said last time - we may never know - but there are plenty of historical precedents. Is Change Possible? No - change is inevitable. The question is the direction of change. Even the direction of change inevitably changes. That is what we call cycles. It is all a part of the apparent duality of this world. cause/effect white/black light/dark heat/cold good/evil yin/yang up/down and the list goes on and on and around and around. We live in a time of rapid change and it is accelerating. In the environment / weather geology / earthquakes employment / purpose government / service science / technology countries / cultures communities / family economy / financial arts / morality world / peace It is obvious to most of us that we are now on a down cycle that will eventually reach a climax in catastrophe and then we shall have to begin an up cycle. The question is - what should be the goals of the next up cycle? The communist ideal has always been to change human nature by social means. Improve the surroundings and change man so that "To each according to his need and from each according to his ability." We know that doesn't overcome the problem of greed - and the leaders benefit while followers sacrifice. There is no path to a classless society. There will always be degrees of difference between individuals. Saints, Sinners, and Satans. The humanists have felt that humanity can be changed through culture and education such as by psychology, public relations, and early childhood education. But they have no stated / agreed upon goal such as do the communists and simply wander around in a mass of conflicting theories. The path to cultural / human / social change has always been religion and that is the nature of man and reality. The atheist / communist / (religion is an opiate) and the humanist / materialist /(religion is a myth) positions have always pointed to 'failed' religion such as when it becomes dogmatic and oppressive. But that is shortsightedness. Would one say to never plant another crop - because all the previous years' crops have ended up dying in the Fall? Would one say to never have children - because they all end up becoming old and dying? Civilizations / cultures / religions become old and die. It is a part of the cycle of life. Yes, the old cycle has ended but the time has come to begin a new and hopefully better one. Civilization / science / religion are supposed to be progressive. Cycles within cycles - just as there are days within months months within seasons seasons within years and years within ages - some beyond our comprehension. The overall cycles are something over which we have no control over - and they are a part of our destiny - just as we have no control over our birth, aging and death. But we as individuals and communities / cultures we do have control over our individual lives and existence as to whether / how well we will fulfill the potential for which we were created. What that potential is - is determined and known by our Creator - and for humanity that insight is provided by Prophets selected by the Creator. Each of us has the capacity to recognize The Prophet of our Day and Age - and to therefore follow The Prophet's directive to fulfill our potential. Collectively that leads to an improved civilization. No, the Tree of Religion is not dead. It has just been shedding its leaves from one Fall Season - and Winter - and is about to enter the Divine Springtime. There is still only One God - and one religion - the Religion of God. Each of us see it individually from our perspective - and our cultures - but Truth and God remain One. People do not wonder that science continually changes its understanding. That the theories / comprehensions of yesterday are replaced by better today. Yet, somehow they do not want that of religion, our understanding of God, although God encompasses both science and religion both now and in billions of years / eternity past and future both here and elsewhere throughout the immensity of the universe. This needed change in attitude / comprehension / understanding is in itself the Great Change taking place in this age. The two most favored times in which to live. ONE is in the time of a Manifestation of God. I feel sure that if I had lived in the time of Jesus - I would not have recognized Him for Who He is, no more than did most who saw Him. Sitting in a crowd of thousands I would not have seen some beautiful Nordic blond individual standing before me in shining robes with a halo over his head and Angels peering over His shoulders. No- I, like everyone else, would have seen a rather short darker skinned individual with a large nose sweating under a hot sun without benefit of air conditioning and would have heard Him espousing political ideas that were not very popular - like be obedient to the Roman oppressors, and socialist concepts of giving to the poor. Those ideas were no more popular with some then than if Such an Individual had espoused them in the election just past. Love your enemies in the face of demands for increased spending by the military / industrial complex? Ouch. What chance would you think there would be for a Guy like that to become popular down through the succeeding centuries - even if His ideas did not. He would be just as likely to be crucified now - as then, and most adamantly by the supposed followers who are expecting Him now - as there were then. As bountiful as it would have been to be in that time, two thousand years ago, today's experience of Sandy would have been nothing compared to everyday life then. Not only: no air conditioning or central heating but no electricity. Not ever. No auto transportation. No anesthetics. No indoor plumbing or modern hygiene. No supermarkets. No cell phones. Just no, no, no. And the people in Sandy think they have it bad. (Well, they do but we live in coddled times.) Yet, for a Christian the greatest bounty would be to deserve to hang on a cross next to one's Lord. I would probably pass with Peter. THE SECOND most favored time in which to live - is the one in which you are living. The time of The Great Catastrophe. The time when people may look at how their plan has not worked out and may be willing to consider God's Plan. The time when one can help implement The Plan of God for the New Age. So, what is God's plan for this Day and Age? Not a popular one - for sure. Service instead of 'success'. Sharing instead of greed. Sacrifice instead of conquest. Submission instead of power. Morality instead of do your own thing. Certainly not one thing there that you would want to campaign on in an American presidential election. And any ideas that there might be towards having a World Government to assure world peace, or unification of humanity in a religion that recognizes that there is One God over all - certainly forget that. If even the Manifestation / Prophet / God were running for president and advocating those things - then most would certainly not want Him! Yes, it is going to be a torturous path, as humanity sorts out the choice between what it wants and what its Creator has designed for it. Bad- I have gotten off into religion again. People really do not like for me to do that. I am wondering if we can chalk it up to my old age? Will I ever change? Just retain the thought - it is inevitable. Ark Two / SAFE Goals Who I would like to reach with this newsletter is a population of people of any age or other demographic who are amenable or who will become amenable to using the LERN system for reconstructing society after The Great Catastrophe - and who are teachable about the system. I don't know who they are - or how to reach them. Because people don't know what is really needed, we struggle on - to reach people of other interests such as survival. If anyone has a better idea, I would certainly welcome it. Twenty years ago, even ten years ago, there were less than a half dozen organizations out there try to convince people that they should prepare for nuclear holocaust. Even then, as now, most looked upon me as a one stringed instrument. Today, there are a multitude of organizations and some have very good information. The following is a lengthy two and a half hour video presentation by Joel Skousen on the Ultimate Preppers Guide - Strategic Relocation I find Joel to be very scholarly and insightful. He also presents his ideas in a very calm and dignified manner. His recommendations are well thought out. I disagree with him, and Alex, about there being a single 'They'. I also disagree to some extent with his goals for the future. AND I don't feel that either Joel or Alex has a real plan for reconstruction. Joel and Alex and many preppers have a great anger towards 'They' for whom they blame for the difficulties. I think that Joel, although he doesn't express it in the video, may share with many a vision of the future - in which Divine Intervention without human help will resolve the difficulties of the world but I think we are going to have to work to build a better future and for that we need to know God's Plan. SAFE has once again lost its US National Coordinator. The previous National Coordinator quit and started his own organization because I keep mentioning religion and he felt it should be "America ONLY" oriented. His organization is at AmericaRebuilds.US if some of you think that it might appeal to your interests better. The latest coordinator did not give a reason for resigning but whatever - people think I miss the point about survival. And it is true. While I realize that people need to survive to construct society anew, Ark Two is not really about survival - it is about reconstructing a society / world that has turned away from God. While we do not make any restrictions on what religion a person is a member of we do emphasize that humanity needs to turn back to the TRUE religion of loving God AND their neighbor - that is to say ALL of humanity. Everyone has a differing vision. I hear every month from several people who are starting their own survival web site or organization. I don't think most of them go anywhere - but I could be wrong. One fellow claims that he has gotten over 550,000 'likes' on his Facebook page about firearms prepping, something that many feel is a great deficiency of this newsletter. What's Happening at Ark Two Had a curious thing happen this week that has never happened before. I think it was probably a pinched nerve or something but it was extremely painful in my lower back and I couldn't move for several hours. Has mostly gone away, although I still can't pick anything up. More and more things like this are happening to make us realize that we are getting older. It frightened Jean because she didn't know how she would be able to bring in wood. Got me to thinking if someone would like to come for an extended 'visit' they could stay with us and give us a hand. All they would need is a US passport to get over the border - and a letter from us saying they were coming to visit. Could even be a teen. We are obviously needing a lot of help on a lot of fronts. If someone would like to volunteer to be the new US National Coordinator - please let me know. It is obviously not an easy task. Requires a lot of continuous work on our data base. We very much need to increase and strengthen the structure of SAFE. We would now like to extend it down to where we have TEAM Leaders in all 500 of the Districts. You can help with this. SAFE Ark Two Newsletter November 11th, 2012 A Solution For Sandy I have looked at catastrophes for decades and noted the problem in solving the aftermath. I think that I have one solution that would help. Let me first say that many Americans are very generous and well intentioned but that our present solutions often just don't work. Immense contributions to the Red Cross and other established institutions often just never get to the intended recipients - or at best a dribble does. Donating into announced bank accounts often leaves one wondering who is actually collecting the money and where it goes? Collections of goods, clothing, books, food most often never make it to the intended recipients. Transportation is just too expensive and there is no truly workable method of distribution. What then can be done? My solution, if you want to really help in a situation is to set a local goal of collecting tens of thousands of dollars to be given to a local individual that you know and trust - and then send that individual to the catastrophe situation with a free hand to do whatever they can do. Sometimes - they can do nothing. I have had personal experience in that way. At one time when I had resources I went to another country to give assistance. The first thing that I ran into were the import duties. If we were going to bring this assistance and gift into the country we had to pay duty. The second thing that we ran into was corrupt government officials. The first problem could be surmounted by bribes - which I refused to give. The third problem was simply the bureaucracy of getting permits to do anything. We ended up sticking our hands in our pockets and coming home and the country did not get what would have been hundreds of thousands of dollars of assistance. I have heard of others making the same attempt. Simply taking planes loaded with supplies and flying into Haiti for example. End result - often the same horror stories. Not just one, but several such incidences that I am personally aware of in that particular situation. And it is not just in other countries. We had a bad tornado in Canada and I took our trucks and employees, formed a convoy and headed to the disaster scene. We managed to make it through the disaster barricades. But there was resistance and anger. I was then, as I am now, a rather notorious individual. People who were not damaged were sitting on their porches doing nothing. Still, I asked them if there was some way we could assist them. No, but they complained to police. We went to the town community center. But the local officials were swamped and had no idea how or where to use what we were offering. I had brought along a couple of big bags of candy bars and went about offering them to the emergency workers. Finally ran onto a couple of families that welcomed our assistance and our workers helped them pull their belongings out of the rubble and to put it onto our trucks for transport to where they had storage. It was at this point that I heard a loud speaker on a Provincial police car driving through saying my name and ordering me to report to them. I responded and was told that I would have to leave the area immediately. Back to the local officials with one of the families we were assisting and the local officials told the Provincial police to stuff it. But you can see the difficulty. So - I know what I am suggesting is not a cure all and sometimes won't work, but I think it is the better idea. The question most asked in the neighborhoods devastated by Sandy is, "Where is the Red Cross? Where is FEMA?" What those organizations, or anyone with lots of money, could do, is give money to a trusted individual, who can then go there and help resolve problems. If it were myself, what would I do? Well, one can always buy tons of blankets. They are in warehouses elsewhere. Load them on rental truck and drive there to hand them out. There are many, many such needed items. I would just like to buy thousands of pairs of socks and some back packs. Go into the crushed neighborhoods without electricity, no laundry facilities and such, and fill the back packs with socks and tell kids to go out and hand them out. Some people are worried about someone ripping them off. Well, some may - but most won't. The real rip off comes in the present response methods. The people doing the ripping off are the bureaucrats, the accountants, lawyers (concerned about liability), the highly paid government officials (wife of a politician who has gotten millions for heading the Red Cross) while the old lady needing food on the 13th floor - now a walk up - gets nothing. And I can tell you that society lady from the Red Cross is NOT going to walk up there. There may be a little rip off at the lower levels in my system but nothing like those are doing at the higher levels now. How many dollars collected in insurance actually gets back to those suffering losses? Let us not talk about that. Or tax dollars paid into FEMA that get into the hands of the destitute? When The Other Shoe Drops The election is over but suspense remains about many things. Sandy has passed but the destruction remains. Wilf watching the news with me remarked that they will NEVER recover. Just like New Orleans never recovered and if there is going to be an increase in the number of these types of events - then we are going to see non-recovery as an increasing mode. And what are we witnessing? Local catastrophes. This particular one was relatively sudden. The results lengthily remaining. I am particularly saddened about the old folks and incapacitated individuals on the 13th stories without elevators, water, or heat. There are other disasters that are creeping. Loss of jobs, falling behind on payments, foreclosures. Some of these have been endemic for decades in some neighborhoods and cities. Still others are environmental, reminiscent of the dustbowl of my youth. Just as in the Great Depression - times were great if you had money. Prices were low and workers were eager. We hear about the difficulty of people on fixed incomes, but for many it is not all that bad. They have incomes. It is those that are without income that are seriously impacted. Families are broken, lives discouraged. But, the Princeton survey showed this week that consumer confidence has risen to the highest point in the last couple of years. Just in time for Christmas. I don't really know what to make of all that. Does that mean for most? Does it mean that we are just walking away from greater and greater bunches on Long Island, in New Orleans, in the black ghettos of the major cities, in the campgrounds and parking lots where people are sleeping in their cars - but for most we can say - "Hey, this is the new norm - and I am okay"? There are other signs. I have never before seen so much talk in the financial news about the stock market being about to undertake a 'correction'. Almost as if they were willing or wanting it. I do think it is controlled so nothing will surprise me. There are other major pressures that aren't exactly making headline news - such an the European Central Bank rejecting the Greek solution. There may be no solution for many of these things. Nice of it to held off until after the election. And then there is the FINANCIAL CLIFF scheduled for January. Almost coincides with the election in Israel which some as seeing clearing the way for Netanyahu to go after Iran. Lots of rumor and speculation about MANY things. Shades of Major General Smedley Butler in the year that I was born. He testified before the US Congress regarding a military plot for a coup to overthrow the President of the United States. It wasn't the first or last time. It is called "Crossing the Rubicon" because way back in Roman times - that was the act of Julius Caesar. It is a question that I raised last week about to people who were supporting the generals disobeying the Commander in Chief. Have you noticed how many generals have been fired in the last couple of months? The American way, from the time of Lincoln, through those exposed by Smedley Butler, to Truman and MacArthur, to perhaps Petreaus, has been to allow them to resign. I heard lots of rumor about Petreaus and the CIA for two weeks before the sudden announcement. It was about an October surprise to get Obama before the election. If you are Obama you would be rather naive not to be watching your back. You would need some good black brothers that you trusted in the FBI to get the goods on the plotters. That was the Hoover way of control. He tapped MLK, JFK, and the works. It was the reason none dared to fire Hoover. Swords cut both ways. Just sayin. I don't know anything. But then neither do any others who will take a stance on one thing or another - in this day. But the big issues are still with us - whether or not you are confident about what the stock market is going to do in the morning. It made no difference who was elected - there is going to be: increasing world hunger increasing world unemployment increasing riots and terrorism increasing suicides increasing violence and crime increasing deterioration of social services as evidence of: world monetary instability/disruption/collapse world economic instability/disruption/collapse world political instability/disruption/collapse world diplomatic instability/disruption/collapse which are all apparent effects of: serious environmental/weather deterioration world trade arms races cultural conflicts but the world root causes across cultures remains: materialism selfishness/greed immorality prejudices - religious/patriotic/racial/political which reflect a world that has turned away from the Divine - and which is going to suffer the consequences. In my view of course - the consequences will be nuclear WW3 as a precursor of the Great Catastrophe This is why people call me a doomsayer - although I style myself as a DawnSayer - because I view this not as the End - but rather the Beginning of humanity - and for which we must reconstruct a new and better world. No tinkering with: political systems - educational systems - environmental systems - economic systems - financial systems - will now even ameliorate the situation. The only solution is complete RESET. How few that understand that - are willing to consider that - are willing to examine alternatives - or can even imagine alternatives. But the eventual situation may change all that. We can hope. All this - and I never even mentioned the Mayan Calendar thingie next month. Sorry, that one just sorta dropped off my radar, but I do think that by this time in February, which is just 90 days off - that there will have been enough events to give you something to talk about over your morning coffee. The next big news item besides the Financial Cliff that is already on the calendar (although others may intervene) is the early election in Israel which is widely seen as a referendum of approval for Netanyahu to strike Iran. Always something of interest.

This Week At Ark Two

The Ark Two scene is active as always. Some very good help this week. Finally got the gate leveled, the worms worried, and a number of other projects done with another couple of crews expected this coming weekend to tackle some important tasks. Some good progress appears to be in the offing for the radio, but more about that when it happens.

One thing of GREAT relief this week. The book inventory was retrieved and I can send out the books that I owe to everyone. I do have a problem. Because of a computer crash I lost the email addresses of those who initially supported the project and to whom I still owe books. Would you please email me with your current snail mail address? I am concerned some may have moved. I was really concerned that I wasn't going to be able to fulfill my commitment on that. You wouldn't believe the story behind the problem.

This newsletter is Copyleft: and may be used by anyone. SAFE Ark Two Newsletter November 4th, 2012 Non-coherent I have bundles of things that I should be writing about. Regarding the radio. Regarding the book distribution. Regarding the books that we are writing. The past week has been very intense for many people because of Sandy - and the coming week promises to be also because of the election. I usually get lots of sleep - just not all at once. But not this last week. A nap after supper but then usually about five hours on the computer during the night. Radio project, coordinating book writers, working on this week's YouTube. Many emails and a few more than usual this week because the National Geographic Ark Two segment was on again. Lack of sleep, for me, equals lack of coherence, so there is nothing that I can do but make this a short newsletter. And a late newsletter. I have been trying to send the newsletters out after midnight on Saturdays so that people will get them on Sunday. But last night I was just too tired to write and this morning Che and Troy came to cut the tree, bring in firewood, water the batteries, and work on the gate post. They really slugged at it until mid-afternoon and got lots done. We didn't get the gate post finished but John has now loaned me the equipment for the task and Wilf is supposed to arrive for a few days on Wednesday and I am hoping that he and I can finish it, straighten out the woodpile and worry the worms. Ark Two is really rather gigantic and it takes lots of help to keep it going. Duncan has found the generator part so we hope to tackle that on the coming weekend. I have ordered the necessary radio parts, but for two weeks tomorrow, Newark has not been able to process PayPal. I will try to get through to them again tomorrow, amidst two medical appointments (one with a surgeon for this skin cancer everyone is after me to get removed from my cheek), and checking on our book inventory, which is such a weird situation that I can't tell you about it and you would probably think it is just my wild imagination if I did. Here are the results from last week's poll. As always - they surprised me. I certainly don't see the world the way that other people do. Mind you most people (not those who read this newsletter) are totally disinterested in these subjects and neither read or think anything about them at all. That is why there are so few 'preppers' among the people that you personally know in your community. Those who are interested in prepping, often want nothing to do with me, because they have strong views regarding politics and religion that are opposite to those expressed in the video, so they therefore quickly unsubscribe from the newsletter. Once those two categories have been strained out - I really thought, that among the newsletter readers, more would Greatly Agree with the poll - but here are the results. 40% greatly agree 25% somewhat agree 14% somewhat disagree 21% greatly disagree Well, I certainly welcome readers who strongly disagree. Diversity of opinion is important in communities and the Ark Two Community certainly needs that - but of course at the same time unity and acceptance of others. In regards to this last week's survey - one reader writes: "I don't buy the "fact" that our version of capitalism is fundamentally evil; just like socialism, monarchy, etc is fundamentally evil." [Hmmm. That is a leap. I don't know that socialism or monarchy are fundamentally evil. And certainly not capitalism. But as to our version of 'corporate capitalism', yes. Soulless, godless, entity that the US Supreme Court has declared to be a 'person'.] The reader continues: I have never seen a video so loaded with adjectives, probably five for every noun. It isn't enough to say that corporations run the place, they have to be "evil, degenerate, money-grabbing, controlling" corporations. [Yep, soulless, godless, whose bottom line is profit only. I don't think one of them would go out and sacrifice themselves. Intentionally go out of business for the sake of humanity. Fits my comprehension of them. May be some good men in them, not for me to judge, but as to the entities themselves and their motives and policies. Yep, "evil, degenerate, money-grabbing, controlling".] The reader continues: "So I voted "greatly disagree." Not because the actual facts were incorrect, but that the video was misleading. I am a big believer in capitalism, and hope to be rich someday (Lord willing) so I can actually make a change in this world. Funny how people listen to you if you have a lot of money. Of course my greatest success or failure will be measured by my performance as a husband, father, and son of God." [I would think one's performance in this world will be more measured 'by' the Son of God, and I don't really think God is watching the Dow and saying of any corporation - "Ahhh, you are doing good - so you are going to get into heaven."] But anyway - I thank every person who has sent me comments - and it is through learning diversity of views that we all change our opinions and hopefully progress. Free Firewood Delivery One of my readers wrote to me this last week that he doesn't like me talking about our cutting our firewood but it as all a part of the ambience of Ark Two. I didn't headline this as Storm Damage because there really wasn't much damage. I was up to say prayers for those that the storm was striking at that hour and happened to be on the phone the instant the big front/downdraft/wind whooshed in. I said to the person on the phone - "Wow, listen to that wind." But I didn't see the scene in the picture until I opened the drapes in the morning. The limb was too heavy for me to lift off - and I had already removed a sizable pile before I went in to get the camera. Jean came out - and I lifted one edge of the limb and she backed out. As mentioned above Che and Troy came today and cut it up. One miracle after another throughout the week. On all sorts of things that I can't relate. But I kept exclaiming to others - "This is a miracle." People say to me, "Boy, was that lucky!", and I reply - "No, that wasn't luck. That was a blessing!" In regards to the tree - I felt sure that we were the only people within a hundred miles that got singled out for that downdraft or whatever it was, but Fred 30 miles north was hit also. Some would say - "Why us?" The answer is because of what we do. Most people won't believe this but there are evil forces loose in the world and they do target those who try to do good. But - there are also angels that the Lord has sends to protect us. You would have had to be here to see how one single inch made the difference, and to exclaim, "Praise the Lord!" I have a prayer list of over 200 people for whom I have said prayers everyday without missing for many, many years. Names come and go from the list but the prayers go on. A part of the prayer is the following quote: "Verily, We behold you from Our realm of glory, and shall aid whosoever will arise for the triumph of Our Cause with the hosts of the Concourse on high and a company of Our favored angels." Indeed, I do feel the presence of those angels, and oftentimes their presence is made known through this newsletter's readers. People are angels. Literally. They are just here having an earthly experience. Numbers of them have helped us this week. I knew that one of the TEAM Leaders was right in the path of the storm Sandy and I tried to call them a couple of times. They finally called back and they and their family had escaped unscathed. Their new modern home had been completely demolished. All that was left was a water filled pit that had been the basement and they were now staying in the upstairs of the house of a relative senior that they had recently helped build next door. The waves had pushed in the doors and windows of that house and had washed out the lower story but they are able to shelter in the upper rooms. To each other we repeatedly communicated the thought of, "Praise the Lord!", because we both realized that nothing important was lost so long as one retains their relationship to the Lord. Yes, they had lost their home, three vehicles, all their physical possessions, and it not only looks like a disaster - but it is a disaster. Ninety percent of the homes in their neighborhood are gone and they are one of the few families still there. But, the TEAM Leader assured me that none of that loss really matters, because none of those things is one going to take from this world, and it is all a chance to grow in Faith and to understand the Lord's mercy. Okay, I could tell you more and about others, but I will stop because I know many of you do not like for me to go on this way. I am going to stop here - because even with the clock fall back it is getting late and as mentioned - tomorrow has lots to do. SAFE Ark Two Newsletter October 28th, 2012 Something Different This week I am going to do something that I have never done before and that is ask you to please watch the following 23 minute video and then take the one answer poll. In the previous newsletter I discussed suicide and curiously this week there was published in a major newspaper a further study that sheds light upon the subject. a further study on suicide But - enough on that subject here. My concern was about in the aftermath of disaster. Then curiously there came also to my attention this week a series of videos, probably over an hour in length, regarding survivors of the Indian Ocean Tsunami on Christmas Day 2004 that killed 250,000 people. Much of the tsunami series consisted of personal videos made by the survivors during the event. It was amazing to see how many people were running trying to escape, with the phone cameras in hand. If it were to occur now, eight years later, I suppose with the increased popularity of that technology, it would be even more. As a result many of us today are practically eye witnesses to events that two centuries ago we would have had to rely upon verbal accounts. I wonder if the technology will survive to give future generations such an accounting of nuclear WW3 and the subsequent Catastrophe. The astounding thing to me was the similarity of the response by so many in the aftermath. There were many accounts from people from very, very diverse cultures and yet the response was often the same. One of a feeling of guilt and remorse to have been the ones to have survived when family and friends perished. Even over the loss of strangers that they witnessed or tried to help. I had read about such feelings in accounts of other disasters but it was quite different to witness them. The other astounding thing was how many felt that they had been singled out for survival and as a result that they had a pressing duty to acknowledge their appreciation and live a life of service thereafter. As I stated before, this was entirely cross cultural. The significance of this to me was that there is perhaps really reason to believe, what I have been saying all along, in that a Great Catastrophe may change the attitudes of humanity and turn them in a new direction. I have always said that I thought that was the purpose of God's mercy in permitting it - and this reinforces my hope that this is true and that will be the outcome. Very busy weekend here. I am writing this Saturday morning to send out after midnight. I often do this in order to have a weekly newsletter that I try to put out on Sunday. If there is something critical that occurs, then I can with some inconvenience make a last minute edit before I hit send at Mad Mimi - our super newsletter server that I am so grateful to have found many months ago. Long battle yesterday trying to correct an error with the mortgage company which in the process of setting up an online automatic payment system took a payment early and at this moment our bank account is seriously over-drafted - but whether the bank will let that stand for a day or charge us some exorbitant fee - we don't know. It is on Jean's account and she will struggle into the bank to check on it as we leave town. Off then to emergency in Barrie because Jean has decided that her ankle is broken. Impossible place to park so she will try to get in there to sit for hours while I do other necessary errands. I will be picking up the Ham radio because Robin put $100 onto our paypal account and the repair place accepted PayPal. Robin said that she is always broke at the end of the month so that there was no need for this month to be different. Her gift was originally meant so that we could go to the puppies' graduation but we didn't get to go because the association wouldn't relent and let Jemma come and we couldn't leave her home alone for what would have been an eight hour round trip. I can understand the association not feeling they could make an exception in our case - but I was hoping they might take out Jemma's stitches while we were there. So while Jean is in emergency, besides picking up the radio, I will be taking Jemma to Bonnar and Marie for them to take out the stitches. I think it may be a first time experience for all three of them. Bonnar does have EMT training, and Marie is a groomer, and Jemma, well she is just sweet patient Jemma. At some point to hopefully pick back up Jean and then for supper with kids and grandkids at daughter's. Back home in time to push the newsletter button - shortly after midnight. The week is full of activities like this. One night my keyboard suddenly died but fortunately I had a new one bought 'unnecessarily' years ago when I thought it happened before. This time it was necessary and Victoria had sent us some left over Canadian cash so I was able to pay to have it installed. Not only that but to get Jean's hearing aids cleaned out - so she is now hearing something, and we even got candies in preparation of Halloween next week. Minute to minute whatever we need is provided. Duncan has a line on someone to fix the generator part and will be seeing them today. Butch is going to check on our books on Sunday. Something tragic appears to have happened with Rob and I haven't been able to reach him for the last several weeks. Carlton has sent the radio UI (User Interface) analysis to Darlene and I hope to hear soon that she is working on it. Ever since Monday I have been trying to get Newark to ship our radio parts order. Sent them the money by PayPal as they agreed but it seems that they still don't know how to handle that. We completed the 15 lesson Writers Survival Course, yesterday, but I am sure the writers feel that I have abandoned them. There are times when I just don't keep all the balls in the air. Tomorrow noon, four videographers from Kitchener are to come at noon plus a fifth individual from New Market. I am hoping for a break in the rain so that they can help me bring in a bunch of wood. Lots of people have said they would come and help - but we really need power at the shelter for it to be practical. One big task that needs doing right away is straightening up a gate post. I had the gate leveled in the Spring but it has pulled the post onto a slant. It means getting a couple of T-Posts, one for there and one nearby for another post. These cost ten dollars each - so unfortunately it is going to have to wait until another time. Really need to get it done before snow because the gate is dragging on the ground and we won't be able to open it in snow. Many people look at many things here and think that we should do this, that, and many other things - but it all takes time, money and energy - all of which are in short supply. Not complaining. Because we get more help than anyone - and if something should happen enough people will likely show up in a day to help and accomplish more than I can do alone in months. Have a tractor scheduled with John to move the remains of last years wood pile forward - sometime before the end of November. Wilf says he will come down mid November to help me get it ready. Postponed, because of the cost, the wood delivery until the the first of December. Every year I think that I will get it in July. Hah! Have to learn to go with the Lord's will. It all works out for the best that way. Realize that none of this is news - but it is just a sharing of how things are here at Ark Two. SAFE Ark Two Newsletter October 21st, 2012 A Statistical Threshold Statistics were released this week that for the first time since the invention of the automobile and such statistics have been kept - The TOP cause of violent deaths in the US is no longer the automobile. It is __????__. I will continue this story further down in the newsletter - to give you a chance to think about it. Other news of the moment. We are in that ten day time frame, that we have been talking about for months, between the end of the Jewish Holidays and the end of the month before the US elections, with the weather window - etc., etc., etc. (to quote "The King and I"). It is of note - with all the military movement that I mentioned in the previous newsletter - that the US and Israel are going to conduct within this same next ten days the LARGEST joint military exercise/games that they have ever conducted. The exact date of which is still unannounced, which in itself is unusual because usually for games you want to let everyone know exactly when, where and what you are doing so that they don't become overly paranoid. In the meantime, as if that were not enough, there are still at least six other interesting pieces of news. 1. Iran too, is doing exercises/high alerts/murky water announcements. 2. Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, and now Jordan, all bordering Israel, have all had very traumatic/unsettling experiences this last week. 3. Everyone in the Middle East including Turkey and Russia have somehow gotten in on the Syrian confrontations this last week. Overall, things could hardly be more unsettled. 4. There is a website, called October Surprise, that has announced that it will make a major announcement on Monday or Tuesday - impacting the National election. This is most likely a hoax. 5. Numerous highly respected financial/market consultants are speculating on the possibility of a "Black Monday" within the next three months (I think four) but even tomorrow. This all ties into the "Euro", the US "Financial Cliff" (because of the US budget law), and so forth. 6. And of course the whole US election/societal/racial scene is getting edgier. The next couple of weeks could indeed be very interesting. But, IMHO, (although I don't see it as being all that humble - just often wrong) this time next month the talk in the "end of the world circles" will be all about the approaching culmination of the 2012 Mayan predictions. My personal expectation is that around mid-February we will be off to a depressing 2013, that will climax between late 2014 and late 2015. The only thing that I feel that I can definitively say is that while things will surely get worse the only thing that we can expect with certainty is - the unexpected. Now - back to the lead story. The answer is suicide. Suicide has become the top cause of violent death in the US. There is a lot to ponder about that. Some might have thought 'guns' and that this was a paen for gun control. Others might hold that abortion is a violent end for life - and it didn't even make the running although it far outnumbers suicide. Yep, the numbers of suicides is climbing. Perhaps, for the crossing over of the numbers, the number of auto fatalities is decreasing. Serious statistics will take into account such factors as the number of automobiles and numbers of both causes per thousand. Whichever. I am going to talk about the increasing incidence of suicide. It is certainly not just a phenomena in the US but one that is worldwide. Rising human expectations and disappointment and all that. Certainly varies from culture to culture. The United States and Canada are down in 38th and 39th places in the World Health Organization list with less than 20 per hundred thousand and the top ranking countries have over 50 per hundred thousand. The statistics for many countries are probably highly unreliable - but things are tough all over. Suicide is not all that easily defined or identified. For example - "death by cop" or "terrorist going after 72 virgins". Even war heroes become intentionally careless and sometimes it is said they just "no longer give a d--n." I have mentioned before how over half the flag draped caskets coming back from Afghanistan are suicides. What psychological motivations there are for both terrorists and heroes - we sometimes don't know. The Japanese Kamikaze pilots were Japan's most effective weapon. Tens of thousands volunteered and several thousand planes were set aside for an invasion of the Japanese mainland that never happened, because Truman used the atomic bomb. Still they were the pride of their country and did great damage to the American fleet. Mothers would go about getting 1,000 women to put a single stitch into a 1,000 stitch sash for their sons. How many thousands of these were made, I don't know, but they remain collector's items today. There are such attitudes of pride and courage in many cultures, besides our own. But why am I writing about this? Well, the point is - as times get tougher - the rate of suicides will increase. I want to point out that in actuality - things aren't all that bad. So the electricity gets turned off. So one gets turfed out and is having to sleep in a tent or car. So one only gets one meal a day or misses a day or two. Honestly, most of humanity has had it that tough forever. We just live in exceptional times. People expect/want/demand far more, and we feel more than a little sorry for ourselves when we don't get it. In reality it is a spiritual trip - but I am not going to go there. Neither am I going to make one of my regular trips into the past, or even the present. What this newsletter is about is the future - and initially not all that a pleasant one. In a sense the world is committing suicide. Death by detonation. There will be initial survivors. But in the two years after the 'event' many will die of starvation, cold, epidemics, radiation sickness, and other accompanying causes. They can just hang in there and suffer (I think the recommended path) or they can take the 'easy way out' and it is not mine to judge. I am not, however, going to give a comparative analysis of methods. What is the purpose of living, anyway? Well, if one can't figure that out - then they have no real purpose in surviving. Natural instinct you say? We overcome that all the time. Unfortunately, many of the survivors will be - well... 'survivors'. I mean that they will be highly motivated by the natural instinct, without any restraint of morals, and you really don't want to have to interface with them. But, you may - and that too is another story. The real solution is to understand the purpose of living, which I define as being - "To love God and serve one's fellow man", and with that focus one is equipped and capable of facing any hardship because - "Greater love hath no man - but that he will lay down his life for another." None of us are going to get out of this world alive. The purpose of the journey is educate the soul. That is done through tests and suffering. There is no greater opportunity for tests and suffering than that which is coming down the road. It is also the greatest time and opportunity in the history of man, to be able to serve God and humanity, by helping to construct a new human society that most greatly encourages the development of the human souls. All things need to be in balance. In order to develop, the chick is required to struggle to get out of the egg. If we 'help' - it will not survive. If the individual soul does not struggle - it will not develop, but there is balance in all things. Humanity as a whole needs better education, diet, medical care, opportunities for service, and so forth. Reconstruction of society in that way is what Ark Two is all about. Not to put back a society of selfishness and greed, materialism and immorality, prejudice, distrust, hatred and violence - as we have today. But there I have gone and done it. I said I wasn't going to preach - and I ended up doing it anyway. None of us know what this week is going to hold for us. We have Jemma dog back from her operation and they had us sign the adoption papers so she stays with us now. We would have liked to go see her puppies graduate on Wednesday, but it is not shaping up that way because we don't yet have a dog sitter and we don't have the gas anyway. Still getting some more writers for the book series. Could still use more so it is still not to late to join. We would need 150 if everyone wrote just one chapter - although I am hoping some will write lots more. Next couple of weeks is our wood challenge. Jean urging me to go out and bring in some more this very minute - but I need to move the rest of the old woodpile so this year's supply can be delivered. Money challenge again. Not complaining. As Jean said yesterday, looking at all the stories from the Middle East. "Unbelievable. We can't even imagine it." This issue hasn't been just chuck full of cheerful news but here is one. The emotional drama about nothing now occupies the minds of many of the citizens. It makes no difference who wins - the policies of the power elite that appoints both candidates - will remain the same. Unemployment will continue, the lack of opportunity for those in the ghettos will continue, the stress and strain on those in the so called middle class will continue. The financial/economic/monetary crisis will continue. The international conflicts will continue. The arms proliferations will continue. Morality will continue to worsen and materiality will abound. Nothing will change - except for the worse as society continues to crumble. Nevertheless - great emotional coin will be expounded in hatred for one side of the political spectrum against the other. All for naught. There will be no recognition of the real underlying problems and no solutions that will be implemented. I am totally supportive of any proposals that would make things better and I shall pass on one below. While it is only a partial solution and by no means addresses, or for that matter even identifies, many of the essential problems - nevertheless it is at least what some will see as one positive step - so here it is and you can do with it as you will. Warren Buffett, in a recent interview told CNBC: I could end the deficit in 5 minutes, You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. His recommendation/plan is below: The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure. Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around. Congressional Reform Act of 2012: 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work. If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Don't you think it's time? THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS! You are one of my 20+ - Please keep it going, and thanks [Note from Bruce: So I have done my part and have passed this on to you.] Numbers of people have been concerned about the time frame between Oct 11th, and before the US election. (The 11th because it was the end of the Jewish Holy Days.) Because this is within the fall weather window and accentuated with the recent photos from Iran, the IAEA report and other factors, many have been convinced that Israel will attack Iran in this period. Other concepts such as the "October Surprise" have also prevailed. Anyway - we are in that short window - and once it closes then there will be some continuing excitement about the 2012 predictions. I have noticed that as the time of predictions get closer, while a few get frantic, there is usually a more general dropping away of concern about them. Still, I do report such information as I get. The following is getting a bit long in the tooth - as I have been keeping it in my file for the last three weeks, but here it is from Stratfor. Curious U.S. and French Military Deployments September 28, 2012 Summary Stratfor has received multiple reports of U.S. and French military movements that we would like to highlight to our readers. These movements could have multiple explanations and might not be linked. But given the numerous ongoing crises specifically centered in North Africa and the Middle East, we consider these developments to be worth following. Analysis According to a worldwide network of aircraft spotters and trackers, at least a dozen MC-130H, HC-130N, HC-130P and AC-130U military transport planes and gunships crossed the Atlantic Ocean on Sept. 13 heading eastbound. These aircraft are typically used for a variety of special tasks, including in close cooperation with special operations forces. The last reported stop for the aircraft was Souda Bay, Crete. It is unclear whether the aircraft have left Crete, but we are working on tracking them down. A week and a half later, on Sept. 24, the same network of aircraft spotters noted 12 U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets arriving in two waves at Moron air base in Spain. It is not known where the squadron is heading, though it could be en route to Afghanistan to reinforce elements there. The Harrier squadron that suffered heavy losses in the Sept. 14 attack on Camp Bastion has already been replaced by another Harrier unit, so it is unlikely that the squadron's deployment is directly linked to that event. It is also possible that the F/A-18s are heading to the Gulf Cooperation Council region. A number of air superiority squadrons, including an F-22 Raptor squadron, have already deployed to the region. If that is the case, the squadron is intended simply as reinforcements or replacements for assets currently deployed there. Also on Sept. 24, The New York Times published an article stating that Iraq and the United States were negotiating an agreement that could result in the return of small units of U.S. soldiers to Iraq on training missions. At the request of the Iraqi government, according to U.S. Gen. Robert Caslen, a unit of Army special operations soldiers was recently deployed to Iraq to advise on counterterrorism and to help with intelligence. It is possible that at least some of the MC-130 aircraft previously mentioned were delivering these special operations troops to Iraq. Another report on Sept. 24, this one by the Le Figaro French-language newspaper, said some 100 French special operations troops had been deployed in the sub-Saharan region to counteract militants in northern Mali. Le Figaro also reported that maritime patrol aircraft that can be used to collect intelligence will be deployed to the region and that commandos of the French navy will reinforce the French special operations troops. Finally, Italian journalist Guido Olimpio reported in September that U.S. unmanned aerial vehicles are currently tracking militants in Cyrenaica, the historical name for eastern Libya. He also said "reliable sources" had confirmed that U.S. special operations forces were planning to carry out intelligence operations that could be in preparation for surgical strikes in North Africa, including in Libya and in Mali. All these deployments could be previously scheduled movements for training or part of ongoing operations. They also do not necessarily mean any one mission is imminent. The United States and France could simply be positioning military assets in a region that is rife with conflict and that may eventually require rapid military intervention or action. Whatever the intent, these deployments, taken together, are too compelling to ignore. Given the fluid conflicts in North Africa, Syria and Afghanistan, as well as the current tensions with Iran, these movements and reports are important to highlight to our readers. The last several weeks and this one coming up have been intensely busy an Ark Two. Just now checked the MCP (Most Clear Proof) folder on my computer - and there are 288 emails in it, from the 14 days since Sept. 30th, until today, about the proof that Christ has returned. Love that. Has meant my doing meals for ourselves and guests, laundry, such housekeeping as we do, and such details. She hobbles about a bit now, but no up or down stairs or going out. She has kept building logs for the fire - which has been a big help. The association with which we volunteer, picked Jemma up Thursday to go to vet for Spaying on Tuesday and we are to pick her back up on Thursday, a five hour trip. Does make the house seem a bit emptier at the moment. Boo, Bender, Bowie, Bear, Baasje are all to graduate on the 24th. This will be from her litter two years ago. It takes two years to train the puppies to work with children with autism. We have been invited to the graduation ceremony and we would like to go. Last two years we didn't have a car that would make it. (Thanks to Ian it is possible for us to go this year.) I have tried to set myself a schedule of getting the newsletter out on Sunday, but this week it just wasn't possible. We had three overlapping crews of people here this weekend and others earlier in the week. Great for getting things done here - and I need many more people to come, but when something is getting done in one area it always means that I am not keeping the balls in the air, in another. Did get the Writers Survival Course started and today we will be up to Lesson 5 of the 15 lessons. In the first lesson I said there were 20 lessons, but that is because I wrote that one first and didn't go back and read it after I finished writing, and before I sent it out. Bad. But all in all I think the writers are finding the course good. I have a lot that I need to be doing with them. It is not too late to join us for what I hope will be an important service to people who are prepared. Hmmm. Just now opened a box of Graham Crackers with a May 05, 2010 expiry date. Probably made in 2008 or 2009. With water sprinkling, butter, heating, they are edible although a couple of years past their expiry date. Jean and I are eating them - but I don't recommend them. However, fits in with a lesson about food in the Writers Survival Course that the writers haven't gotten to yet. We shot footage for National Geographic yesterday. Daughter, granddaughter, and grandson came for that. Malcolm the master electrician who is working on our generators stayed for the shooting and was a big help with lighting and all. A special video crew came. We also shot additional footage for Victoria. Still working on some glitches in getting this uploaded. It seems to be too high resolution for my computer programs. Nat. Geo. wanted sound right on the video so we had to use some special sound recording equipment because our camera does not do that well outside. I have to work on releases and a bunch of other details today, for Nat. G. There are always struggles, and Victoria had a weird one with the YouTube video for this week (it kept coming up in 3-D) but she got it straightened out, and here it is. In fact so much here this week that I hardly have time to write. But - in the world also. The big news this week was the defection of the Ahmadnejad's personal photographer to the US with reportedly two suitcases of photos of the Iranian nuclear sites. Report was suspiciously first in Debka File but then from all MSM sources. Shades of United States Secretary of State General Colin Powell and his phony photographs of Iraq's Poison Gas trailers. Not to say that these Iran photographs may not be legitimate but that it is all convenient timing for what is called a Wag the Dog scenario. BUT - I am not going to go there. What will be, will be. There are so many phony statistics, reports, from the government that surely no one has much faith in any of them. The big statistic this week was the Reduction in Unemployment from 8.1 to 7.8. A BIG 3/10ths of a percent drop. I say that with sarcasm - because the common practice has now become to issue the figures and then the next month to say that those were 'preliminary' figures and that the revised figures show an even greater change - which could be in either direction (but by a far margin is usually worse). The revised figures are about 'old news' and so don't get a play in the MSM. All a part of the manipulation of public perception. But the figures are all phonier than a three dollar bill, anyway. All that number reports and means is the new number who applied for unemployment insurance in that period. As the economy gets worse and more people are not eligible for unemployment insurance that number 'improves' which means that it goes down and more people are out of work without unemployment insurance. Well - whoopee! (Again sarcasm.) That can only appeal to the heart of a dyed in the wool Ayn Rand believer. This from May 18th - on CBS. Some units are seeing unemployment levels of 30% That is a phony number also - because we are still talking about the government statistical method and NOT what they call DISCOURAGED WORKERS - which are the ones no longer eligible for unemployment. The Ayn Rand solution is to reduce benefits - to 'encourage' more to seek employment. According to a Workforce Management online survey, a shocking 65% of employers would not hire an active Guard member or Reservist. The real number for unemployment among Vets discharged a couple of years ago, in black ghettos, is thought by some to be over 40% and even that may be an understatement. If you live in a predominately white community you may think this is not an overall problem that will lead to societal collapse. I differ as to that opinion. Inflation figures, as any economist knows, are just as phony as unemployment figures. The academic/professional literature is full of discussion about how the measures are continually changed to make things look good, but every now and then my wife will come to me at the computer with a can to show me how bad things look to her. This last week it was two cans. One was Heinz beans. We use lots of them. The old cans on the shelf have the beans in them so thick that you have to shake them out and get a knife or spoon. The new cans have so much water that the beans just pour out. The second can was the frozen orange juice. Used to be filled right up to the top. Now there is little gap. I said, "Well that isn't much." Her reply was that amounts to a cup of orange juice and 4 cups in in four cans in the week - makes a quart of orange juice that they steal from me every week." Yep, that is 12 gallons a year that they are taking just from us. Times the millions of people that buy frozen orange juice - that amounts to a lot of orange juice. It is that way everywhere. The bag of microwave popcorn used to fill the bowl. No more. The frozen pizza used to feed us with a couple of pieces left over. No more. The box of dried cereal is now more box than cereal. The potato chip bag will do for one sitting. I hope that I am not really getting all that much fatter. Rip here and rip there. From the insurance company, the bank fees. The telephone company. Would you believe that the telephone company now charges a fee "TO DISCONNECT A PHONE!" Government license fees are something else. But us frogs in the water aren't supposed to notice that it is heating up. Just read the government statistics - AND BELIEVE. Then you will think all is good. Ooops. Sorry. Didn't mean to go into a rant. Things aren't really all that bad for us here. I still get my hair cut every two or three months for $10 but Jean's got too high so that she wants me to cut hers. I do sometimes - but not a good idea. Cost of wood almost doubled this year. But still, not like what some people pay. On to other subjects. Needing lots more help on the books. Some writers doing okay - but others are not producing enough. I have a new idea. Rather than writing a whole book, how about some more of you out there writing just a cameo, a short story about one character and event that you develop, and we will include it as a chapter or part of a chapter in one book. To encourage this - I have another new idea. There is particular little survival course that gives skills like I never imagined. I told you about it before, but I know that most of you never looked it up or went through it. I am going to encourage all the writers to do so - and so that people will do so I am going to give it in small section by small section. To get into this course you have to join our writer's team and make a contribution, because this course will give you insight into what you are writing about. I will give a few days for everyone who wants to, to join - and I will explain what we are writing about - and then I will start sending the course to everyone that has joined us. I will try to send a small 5 minute read every day -but you will be surprised how quickly we will make it through the course - and if once we start - you want to quit, just let me know and I will take you off. If I am not getting some feedback from you - I make take you off anyway. There won't be that many join this project. Last week I predicted that I would have very small numbers that would follow through on what I offered then. Only 36% of the Ark Two newsletter engaged last week. According to those who study such data - 15% is considered good, but I drive away those who are not really interested. Still, that is a discouraging low number to me. All in all (because I kept the replies in a separate file) I can tell you that I had 284 emails written to me about that subject this week - all of which I replied to personally and individually. Okay, but let me know you are interested in the book writing project (cameo writing for your part) and I will enroll you in this new survival course. It really did sort of blow my mind. In fifty years of studying this subject I'd never seen anything like it. It is free on the Internet, and I did tell you about it before, but as usual, most no one followed through on it. Only about two or three in a thousand do - so by doing it in this way - I may accomplish two tasks simultaneously. Gain help in writing the books and teach more about survival to more people. The latter will be accomplished in two ways. One by my teaching the course - and secondly, by people including the information in what they write. So anyway, PARTICIPATE. Completely filled the car to go to the Hazardous Waste Collection Depot - and then we did a dump trip after that. Jean did a lot of canning this week but thinks that is now over. Different things from different neighbors and relatives. We have had a fire yesterday and today. I need to bring in more wood before we leave for Canadian Thanksgiving dinner with our son, daughter, and grandchildren in Barrie. Jean has made a special carrot salad, pies and cranberry sauce and we are taking them jars of our honey. All a part of bounteous country living. A fig on the grocery stores and their cans. Just joking. Carlton is REALLY helping on the radio software - and good response from Darlene on that also this week. STILL hung up about the power transistors.
