SAFE Ark Two Newsletter
June 17th, 2014
Yesterday Was The Deadline
Gazprom said its demands had not changed and Kiev was expected to pay its debt of $1.95 billion by
06:00 GMT on Monday, otherwise the gas supply would be stopped.
The news at 3:50 p.m.
3:50pm EUROPE
Russia cuts off the gas to Ukraine
Gazprom demands Kiev repay $4.5bn and meet bills in advance
source
This means a cold winter in Europe unless the Ukrainians permit Russian gas pass through them without
snatching some for themselves. How likely is that?
And the other big financial/oil news item for the day
China Bourse May See Soft Start On Tuesday
6/16/2014 9:00 PM ET
source
"The China stock market has moved higher now in two straight sessions, gathering almost 35 points or
1.7 percent en route to a seven-week closing high. The Shanghai Composite Index closed just above the
2,085-point plateau, although the rally may run out of steam on Tuesday."
So, as is often the case - we see deadlines come and go, but nothing is particularly apparent as having
changed the world on the deadline date. It doesn't mean that it hasn't caused a major change - it is
just that it isn't immediately apparent.
But I don't know. I can't tell. I do know that a lot of important changes are taking place, but I just
can't tell which are really significant, nor what effect they are going to have.
The big talk this week is about ISIS - the (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria). ISIS is a term that
appeared on my radar just a couple of weeks ago and already there are some who think it is about to
take over Iraq. ISIS is a fundamentalist Jihadist group that has captured some major cities in Iraq in
the last couple of weeks with speculation that it is about to capture Baghdad.

This has the US so excited that the carrier George Washington has been sent to the Gulf, along with
another major tactical landing ship, and the US is talking about forming an alliance with Iran to
defend Iraq. It is a Sunni/Shiite thing there -
but that really means nothing to the US for which it is all a Dollar/Oil thing.
What a changing world! In my lifetime I have seen Catholic France fighting Catholic Italy and
Protestant UK aligned with Orthodox Russia in fighting Protestant Germany, and then before long (in
terms of my life) France, Italy, UK and Germany aligned against Russia. I could give many other
examples of the black and white pieces changing sides in this world chess game. You really wouldn't
understand the emotion felt in the US against Japan and Germany (that I was taught when I was a boy).
So now, the US may be about to align with Iran - (The US position on this CHANGED - just as I was about
to hit the send key - so who knows - I can't keep up with it) and then there is the whole Levant thing,
a fundamentalist Muslim Jihad plan to combine Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Cyprus and Southern
Turkey into a single Sharia state. If it happens, which side will the US, China and Russia then be on?
It boggles the mind. Do you really know which team you are supposed to be cheering for in the ball
game?
Personally, I think it is best to be on God's side - and God's side is the cause of humanity. Not this
rah, rah, rah for Western style democracy or Imperial American Exceptionalism that is supposed to rule
the world (nor the Chinese, Islamic, or any other hubris for some other alternative exclusive view.) I
think that God's view is INCLUSIVE and that we are to love God and one another.
Not much universal love going on out there at the moment. Three big civil wars (Ukraine, Syria, Iraq)
plus lots of others simmering and boiling in Africa, South America, and elsewhere. The internal
stresses and strains in Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt and elsewhere are immense, but so also the
International ones involving Japan, China, Vietnam, North and South Korea, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India
and many others.
In my opinion we are watching a circus that is the Grand Finale of history, where all the many acts and
conflicts have now come out on the stage to do their simultaneous cacophony in an overwhelming display
of which no one can make sense. One may cheer for any one act/team/component for which they wish, but
once again I think God is only on the side of total humanity.
Humanity is so immersed in greed, self-interest and immorality that it has no awareness of the Will of
God or spiritual reality. This shortcoming is about to be corrected.
The killing and maiming that we witness (or try to avoid seeing) in the Ukraine, Syria, Iraq and many
other places, destroys not only those who are the immediate victims but also those who are the
perpetrators. People do not realize how damaged are the souls of those whom we welcome back as heroes
for having gone for us to fight all the battles in the countries where we have sent them. Korea,
Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan - to name just a few in my lifetime.
A few come to realize that when they have killed others they have also killed a part of themselves. It
has often been a very destructive and crippling thing to their souls. Not only their souls, but the
souls of those who have supported them. The attitudes have now become so ubiquitous that most people do
not recognize the dark evil that entirely surrounds them in media, entertainment, and even games that
their children play.
A long discussion with a youth this week about the latter. So many hours spent in violent computer
games. Just make believe, he says. But still, what is in the heart is what is in the soul. Fight on the
'good' side is not the action of seeking 'love for thy enemy', showing mercy and compassion, or any of
the other actions that Jesus commanded. Worse yet, in some of the games, some of the players
intentionally and actively take up the role of the dark side. I can tell you - I don't want to look
there. But there is where our society, the world society is, and I don't see how it can get any worse -
so I think we have reached the end of where we can go in this direction, and we are about to be turned
around.
Activity at Ark Two remains intense. I wish that I had a radio report - but there something always
seems to be just on the verge of happening. No garden crew here this last weekend so Jean and I have
had to do the daily watering although we have had respite of a couple of days because of rain.
Immense effort on improving our water supply with a water ram - and hoping that on Wednesday we will
make some real progress on that front. Once over that hurdle - although I don't know how long that will
take - the next one will be the generator. Always so much to do - and so few to do it, but more and
more things seem to be coming together. It strikes me as a matter of timing being in sync here at Ark
Two with what is going on in the world.
Looking at the calendar that I create of upcoming events -
I have on it already a dozen that I think significant in July.
I won't mention most of them - because I would have to justify them -
but there are:
July 13 the FIFA finals in Rio de Janeiro
July 15 and 17 the BRICS (an association of five emerging economies that include Brazil, Russia, India,
China, and South Africa) Summit in Brazil
July 20 Expiration of The Joint Plan of Action (JPA) with Iran that took effect on 20 January
July 28 - 100yr anniversary of the beginning of Armageddon
Here at Ark Two there is going to be a large survival group meeting July 11-13.
Busy, busy times.
Peace and love,

Greetings SAFE Team!
I hope that what we're experiencing is growing pains! Anybody can put together an organization
with a website and Blog. That's NOT the point! We have been steadily implanting changes and
fixes to create a more functional SAFE for everybody. However, change comes at a cost.
|
Improvements, even basic ones, are often too slow in the making. At the same time, those of
us who are ready to "make things happen" are often slowed down by lack of support. The Forum
was also designed to be an additional resource to help connect our members, but very few have
registered, and others are having difficulty registering. Perfection is somewhere else.
That's the bad news.
The good news is that we are still here! Plugging along. Many people have come forward to
volunteer, and there's been a steady turnover to reflect a more active membership. Now, we
need the other aspects of SAFE to take in the slack, so that are more active members can function.
So, which organization is the best? Which network is the best? For that matter which church or
religion is the best (I just had to throw that one in there :-} )? At this point, we have to be more
flexible and accommodate certain things that are not 100% to our satisfaction. The key is to
make a positive contribution. We can't do that if we're sitting on the sidelines. Our Forum has
now had 325,000 hits! So, people are watching, but they're still too many on the sidelines.
If you have put all your eggs into one basket, you may be disappointed. I hope that those who
read this will not place all their hopes on SAFE, rather, I hope that just like any type of networking,
we can continue to network with other like minded organizations so that our members will be able
to maximize both their contributions to the community and multiply their resources. In order to
offer the best to others, we first have to get our own house in order. A huge THANK YOU to all
who have been working patiently to that end.
Peace & Action,
