SAFE Ark Two Newsletter

Anger and Wrath
vs.
Peace and Love
I wasn't going to comment on it, and I don't really understand it, but
we have had something of a palace revolt here at S.A.F.E.. Our server
programmer tells me that because the 'readership list' was compromised -
I have a legal responsibility to tell you about it.
So here are all the details. As you know, some months ago our US
National Coordinator resigned. US National was something of a misnomer
because he was actually responsible for our total readership. Charles
Dark remained our database manager, and I was appreciative of his
remaining available although he did not actually do anything, or have
anything to do, so far as I knew, until we got a new US National
Coordinator.
There appeared on our account at Mad Mimi (our newsletter distributer) a
newsletter format for AmericaRebuilds.US and a copy had been made of
our readership list. A couple of weeks ago, I consulted with a tech at
Mad Mimi about this and they had me change the account password. About a
week later negotiations coincidently began for Christopher to become
the new S.A.F.E. US National Coordinator. In an exchange of emails and
telephone conversations Charles Dark assured Christopher of his
continuing support and sent to him, and myself relevant database
spreadsheet files.
I personally only had the email exchanges with Charles, but tried to
call him a couple of times and left messages, and received an email from
him saying that he would call me Sunday afternoon. Sunday morning I
sent out last week's newsletter and this triggered a firestorm at
AmericaRebuilds.US demanding that Charles resign there (I didn't even
know that he was a member, and in fact had received intimations to the
opposite). AmericaRebuilds.US accused Charles of disloyalty to
AmericaRebuilds.US and Charles then "demanded" that I publically
announce, and publish in this newsletter, his resignation as database
manager for S.A.F.E.. Please consider this a fulfillment of that request
as well as the legal requirement posed by our server programmer.

So - what is it all about? I really don't know. I have read, and others
tell me that they have received Mark's newsletter explaining how he
feels that we are disloyal to the US. Even that we are illegal and will
be viewed as a terrorist group.
Correspondence from one of our TEAM leaders appears to indicate that he accuses us of harboring jihadists.
Nothing could be further from the truth - than any of that. The
following is the response that I gave to the accusation that we are
harbouring jihadists:
That is an astounding speculation!
PLEASE tell me where in the world THAT came from.
So far as I know -
we don't even have a single Muslim in the organization.
This has always disappointed me -
because I would have liked to see greater diversity.
We have some fundamentalist Christians -
but fewer than the general US population.
Or maybe not.
I estimate about fifteen percent.
Quite a few Mormons - relatively -
but less than a third of the number of fundamentalists.
A few Jews - but very few.
Not sure, but there may be a Hindu or two.
But no Muslims - to my knowledge.
Certainly among the State TEAM Leaders -
all of whom I know quite a bit about -
there are none.
In the overall picture -
a few militia types come and go.
If they get into organized militia -
I think they pretty much leave without exception.
You are completely conversant with my philosophy -
and you know how irritating it is
to extremists of any kind.
So why anyone would think that anyone of that type
would give us a second glance -
is beyond me.
Nevertheless,
we have been accused of many strange things -
in the press -
on Internet bulletin boards -
etc.
Usually, some other member of the boards
or the public - in case of the press -
comes around and immediately debunks the accusation -
and I have never had to intervene.
But, most certainly,
I would like to know from where
it could "come to (your) attention
that the SAFE organization includes some who are
self-proclaimed jihadists."
In further communication with the above respondent, I replied:
Yes, we have both taken an oath
to uphold the Constitution of the United States -
and we are both very sincere and committed to that.
As in the time of the Federalist Papers
and among the statements of the Founding Fathers
which I have been studying rather intensively these last few weeks -
(would be glad to send you a bucket full of quotes)
there were/are concerns as to what things mean
and as to how they should be addressed.
Aside from that -
we do not often get off into the discussion of religion -
but I should tell you that the VERY FIRST THING
in the Book of Laws of my religion -
is the repudiation of the concept of Jihad.
One of the very first strong basic principles of my religion -
is the concept of Independent Investigation of Truth
and that no should be coerced into their beliefs.
At one time this was taken to such an extreme
by members of my religion
that they refused to teach their own children
about their religion.
Saying that everyone must make up their own mind.
Strange news this week -
with the new political appointment in the Pentagon -
that the US Army is now considering fundamentalist Christians
to be terrorists -
or at least 'spiritual terrorists'
and are talking of imposing on them a policy of
"Don't ask - don't tell".
What a strange circle this world is rotating in.
The S.A.F.E. philosophy.
The very essence of The S.A.F.E. philosophy is one of tolerance and
acceptance. Safe America For Everyone does mean just that. It does
admittedly create a paradox. How does one tolerate the intolerant?
Islamists insist that there should be no law but Sharia. A candid
appraisal of the Quran and the Islamic Faith will conclude that jihad is
decreed there and in that regards the Islamists are being true to their
teachings. Most modern and moderate Muslims in this part of the world
try to give a twist on that interpretation but in fact they are actually
just social conventional nominal in name Muslims as can be said of most
Christians today that they are simply social conventional nominal in
name.
For example - fundamentalist Christians accurately point out that the
Bible through the story of Sodom and Gamorrah, and elsewhere, thoroughly
condemns homosexuality. Taking any other position relegates the Bible
to some reformable text rather than being Divine Law, just as does
taking some other position on jihad discredit the Quran.
Extremism is not unique to Islam. For example, the Tea Party Economist, Gary North
favors stoning to death women who lie about their virginity,
blasphemers, nonbelievers, children who curse their parents, male
homosexuals, and other people who commit acts deemed capital offenses in
the Old Testament. He opposes freedom of religion, arguing for "a
Bible-based social, political and religious order which ... denies the
religious liberty of the enemies of God." On the subject of children's
rights, North argues that "[the] son or daughter is under the
jurisdiction of the family," which "must be maintained by the threat of
death."
Extremism is by no means limited to religion. I receive many rants from
political, patriotic, sexual, racial extremists of one stripe and
another.
So, in the face of all this - what should the S.A.F.E. response be?
Well, it is not to return anger for anger, hatred for hatred, but rather
to turn the other cheek and to try to continue to spread the message of
Peace and Love.
The world is admittedly in a state of turmoil and conflict, and while we
acknowledge that - we choose not to participate. There is nothing that
can be done about it. The world has chosen the course that it has in
separation from God and the results are now inevitable. We choose
instead to help those who will listen, to be around to pick up the
pieces, and to try to give them the tools that will be necessary "to
build a better world", which is the motto that we publish on our
literature.
Another Critique of the S.A.F.E. Ham Radio project
i have been following the ark two news now for some time and i am an
avid prepper and i am also involved in emergency services and very much
involved in ham radio emergency communications.
i have decided to remove myself from the mailing list because of
the conversations i saw on the april 25 newsletter between ham radio
operatiors and bruce.
i have a fall out shelter and i feel i am very safe and it is also stocked with ham radio gear.
i feel that mr beach doesnt know what he is talking about when it comes
to ham radio. we cant rely on psk31 to be the main communications line
its stupid and will never work when shit hits the fan so for that
reasion and for the fact that he is a crazy old man who needs to be
locked up and be placed on medications for his condition i feel it is in
the best interest i leave the group.
My response to the above
I appreciation all critique - but when the above writer said:
we cant rely on psk31 to be the main communications line its stupid and will never work
He needs to explain the reason why - and give an alternative.
And when he says that I am
"a crazy old man who needs to be locked up and be placed on medications for his condition "
he may well again be right, and many would agree with him, but once
again I would prefer an actual listing of the concerns and suggested
alternatives.
Peace and love,
Bruce
