Rechargeable Dosimeters
Today, Victoria has provided us a YouTube #16 on Rechargeable Dosimeters
that I hope everyone will watch because it is the single piece of
radiation equipment that I most highly recommend if one can afford it
and can afford only one.
There are many of you out there that have them because we at one time
made a group purchase, so the time has come to review how to charge
them. Next week Victoria plans to do a video on how to use them.
You can still obtain them from http://radmeters4u.com
(and other sources). No, we don't sell them or make any money for
telling you about them. And yes, in the past we have given away
thousands and tens of thousands.
The charger and three dosimeters today sells for $260. We actually sent
out six dosimeters with a charger - and in the large kits we included
two chargers and a couple of large radiation meters. The kit today would
be well over a thousand dollars. So those of you who have them - please
value them.
The process that I show in the video, we (actually Jean) did for every
dosimeter that we sent out. Jean sat for hundreds of hours and went
through them. She says that sometimes she had to wake them up. Everyone
of them had to be checked at least twice. First to charge them and then
later to verify that they had held the charged and had not 'drifted'
beyond our tolerance. We threw away hundreds. Cleaning, testing,
packaging, was all a massive job that we could by no means do today.
Once we got a pickup truck load - I would drive down to the border in
order to get them through customs in mass - and then mail them out from
the US. I made many trips. Sometimes loads so heavy the front wheels did
not have their usual grip on the ground. Wonderful days. Wish we could
do it again. But those days are now gone, both for us and the
dosimeters.

Yes, we still have hundreds of kits in the shelter that my daughter and
granddaughter help keep prepared for our 'go-away' kits. But now we have
reached our minimum inventory for that - and I can't give those to
anyone else today, when people can still get them elsewhere. They are
for when people won't be able to get them anywhere.
Many ask. But I now have to say no. It pains me. I know that many can't
afford them, and that was the case with many before and why we gave them
away in the past.
However, a couple of videos from now - I am going to show people how to
build their own ratemeter for free - just out of scrap materials that
most people have about their home. Victoria has bought us a brand new
camera so that we can shoot this and I have already spent many days
working on it. I need someone to come and operate the camera - while I
do the demonstration. The rate meter is actually more accurate than most
that people buy commercially.
Don't feel bad about not having gotten the free stuff before. There is
lots of free stuff still, and the most important stuff is still free. In
my paradigm there is no need to sell stuff because the money I would
spend things on personally would just get all blown away anyway.
While demand is not increasing near fast enough - it is increasing more
than I can handle it. Consequently, I have had to set requirements that
people must have land and a specific budget (whatever their budget is)
before I will any longer give free shelter consultation. Eventually I
may have to stop doing that altogether. I have never sold the service
and have no plans to do so now. That consultation service is something
else that people can go to architects and engineers and buy - sometimes
for thousands of dollars.
There is still plenty of free space at Ark Two for those who want to
come here and help ahead of time. Still, few takers. For it to be
practical people need to live within 20 miles south or 80 miles north.
(I did mention last week that there are two relatively inexpensive
houses available in the village - but I don't expect they will be
available for long.)
This month alone, I have gotten emails from someone who
has just moved into the village, and someone else who saw the Nat. G.
show and lives within 10 miles, and I told them to come on over. But,
they never did. People in the village don't want to be known to
associate with "the crazy old man".
Lots of people from further away do come. One church group came last
Sunday and around 40 people are scheduled to come on the 22nd, although I
doubt anything near that number will show up. Several people write me
every week asking how much to join, and although I tell them it is free -
I never hear back from them again. Surely the price isn't keeping them
away.
But for the REALLY IMPORTANT stuff - there are practically no takers.
The really important thing is what no one is thinking about, or knows
how to do, and that is how to put the society around you back together
after doomsday, because you are not going to be able to survive without
others, or with others - if they don't know what to do. All that
information is free in the free paper download
and of course there is a lot more detail in the book. I hope that we
have time for me cover the subject more in further detail in future
newsletters.
Our two big projects of the moment are trying to write a series of books
(novels) that explain the system and to develop our SAFE Ham Radio Net.
Adam, Dave, Darlene and Carlton are working intensely on the latter,
but the big issues are timing and support. Even if we can get it
together it is going to take a lot more people participating than we
have any indication of as yet, to make it worthwhile because the value
of a net is the number and quality of the people in it.
I do a lot of complaining, but in actuality we get more help than
anyone. Shawn and his group helped put a tarp over the woodpile last
Sunday. Che came yesterday is coming again on Monday to work with the
generator technician. Wilf came all the way from Elliot Lake last month,
and is coming again this month. Still, because of the size of our
complex we need a lot more help here and because of the size of our
organization it needs LOTS more help. Many people are willing to handle
their state, and are feeling distressed because we are not giving them
the support they need.
What we most greatly need is a US National Coordinator. I have mentioned
that before - but I have to admit it is a momentous task and requires
someone willing to make a massive sacrifice of time and effort. I used
to do all this - but obviously there is just too much for one person to
do now. If you wish to make a real service to humanity, please do step
right up.
So many things that I didn't get done this week, about the book, about
the shelter, about shooting YouTube videos, about a manual for the Ham
Net. They were all on the list, but two days went with doctor
appointments. Just annual checkups. Next week it is the cardiologist.
The general consensus is that I am doing well, given the side from which
I am looking at the daisies (one doctor's very words this week).
Several people have asked me to alert everyone to the current world
situation. Okay, so this week there has been considerable more
deterioration in the world geopolitical scene. Lots more prep going on
among the public in Russia and China. Russia and China have drawn a line
in the sand and told the US to NOT intervene in Syria. Russia has
shipped additional weapons to Syria. Conflict is increasing between
Syria and the Turks. The US continues to support the Muslim Brotherhood
there, as it did in Egypt which is also going all to pot. The US created
Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaida and set the path that has brought Iran to
power in Iraq. Iran continues to do its thing, as do India and Pakistan,
and for that matter North Korea, Japan and China.
I can't really see anything to point out that is going well about
anything, unless you liked the way the election turned out. Sandy is
sad. The financial cliff looms nearer, The Euro is doing, well -
whatever the Euro does. I did tell you that unemployment would be better
this month. Sort of like saying that the patient who has gone into a
coma is sleeping well.
Lots of media about Ark Two this week. Was on a talk show and there
appeared several magazine articles and web blogs. Some of the latter say
such terrible things about me that I wouldn't think of saying or
repeating them about someone else.
Anyway, we continue to prep here and I hope you are doing the same.
Peace and love,
Bruce
