Unless it is just that
those who prefer the old format -
are the most vocal.
We can't use 'exactly' the old format -
because our new mail server requires
that we send out in HTML
in order to avoid spam blockage.
So - we have now progressed/regressed to this.
There are so many things happening with SAFE
that I can hardly get a newsletter out.
The world remains relatively quiet -
considering all that is collapsing in
Greece
Spain
Italy
UK
which are all in recession.
And given the collapsing governments
in the Middle East -
Egypt
Libya
Syria -
and you can extend on the list.
Economies in turmoil in
Russia
China
US
and most of Europe.
Not to forget Japan
and many others.
Some/many people feel we are on the verge of
total World Economic/Financial collapse.
The stress and strain
on places like
Sudan and
NK -
can prompt irrational actions.
But -
all is quiet on the Western Front -
at least until tomorrow.
May 1st.
Perhaps more threat and rhetoric there -
than will result in actual action.
Nevertheless -
it is just may be that
the merry month of May may be
when things begin to warm up.
Yes, I am aware of
the upcoming NATO meeting in Chicago,
the accelerating racial conflicts throughout the US,
the emotional hysteria about the elections,
the increasing activity of earthquakes,
the extremely active solar cycle,
dozens of destabilizing environmental issues,
such as with the ocean currents.
What will be - will be -
and really nothing we can do about it.
The need here
is to prepare in case
people suddenly do become interested
in what we do.
While I seem to be failing in that regard,
fortunately I am beginning to get some good help.
Charles has taken over and is organizing the data base.
Rob who for a long time has handled the book distribution -
is also establishing a format -
for FaceBook pages for each state.
Rich is developing a format
for a Wordpress blog for each state -
and Mark is preparing to takeover -
the coordination of the Regional TEAM Leaders.
Wendy today is still working on some modifications -
to the enrollment form.
So hold in there - State TEAM Leaders -
and everyone else -
because hopefully help is coming.
Charles feels that his database program is starting
to come together.
I will let you know
when Mark begins to coordinate the Regions -
(and hence the states)
but Charles database is an extremely
necessary resource for him.
The Interaction between Charles
and Mark and myself on the one side -
(for providing internal communication) -
and between Richard and Robert and myself on the other -
(for providing external communication) -
is key to making the system function.
This would free me up
to do things like:
a. new material for the web site -
(I have several items that need to go up -
some pretty exciting/interesting stuff - I think -
a big file on community health -
thanks to John -
and Shane is evaluating some new
radiation detection technology -
and there is still one more -
that I hope someone will respond to -
later in this email.)
b. create YouTube videos -
(still have the Script to finish
for the 24th video -
but six are being edited).
c. work on things like National Geographic
(several are in the works)
d. try to keep the radio project moving forward.
Bob received this week the binocular transformers -
but has yet to order the new power transistors.
I am to speak to him again on Friday.
Fred hopes to have the compiler functioning this week
to modify the radio user interface.
Peter M. and Ian have the mirrors working -
but I am needing to upload the new material.
Darlene came for many hours on Sunday -
and solved a lot of the technicalities
regarding the new camera and editing system
for the YouTubes.
Victoria is trying today
to update her passport
so that she and a friend
can come up from South Carolina -
to do the editing.
Performers and camera crew (my grandkids)
have committed to the weekend of the 12th.
That makes a lot to get together by then.
I am hoping by that time that Tim in Ohio
will get a new generator here
so that we can include it.
Very grateful for the number of people who are helping -
but much more is needed.
I particularly have two projects
that I need some help on.
I will bring up only one at the moment.
This is a project that I have dreamed of
for a long time -
but couldn't find the solution.
Then this week -
on the Internet - I found three solutions -
that in combination
will surely solve the problem.
This first project is the design
of a water ram
to get water up into high-rises in the city -
when there is no electricity.
The problem has been -
coming up with a design
that could be executed out of
locally available parts -
AFTER the catastrophe.
I now have all the information.
What I need is an engineer
that will go through the three systems -
and select the parts from each
(most are redundant)
and make up a drawing and parts list
that combines the best features of each one.
We will then publish this
free for public use
on our web site.
Requires mostly a draftsman.
Most anyone can understand the technical aspects.
That is what makes it
useful/possible/feasible.
