SAFE Ark Two Newsletter My four Chinese Grandchildren and my son and daughter-in-law Watching the Passage of Time On the other side of the International Date Line it is now tomorrow the 24th - and my eldest son's birthday. Already I have a picture from the party - as you see above. Still the 23rd on this side of the date-line, and my wife's 85th birthday, but while we didn't party it has been an interesting week for dates. On the 20/21st the sun reached its summer solstice - marked by a red pole in the line of poles that mark the windows in our replica of Stonehenge. Turning on that red pole the sun now began its straight march down the line of blue poles to the other red pole at the other extreme of the line of poles. The second red pole stands in our Bahj'i Memorial - and marks the winter solstice on the 21st of December, - the feared date in 2012 of the Mayan Calendar. December 21, 2012 on the Mayan Calendar Not feared by myself - because my understanding and calculation of prophetic dates says -"Not until after July 28th, 2014" - but before you put any stock in that you need look at my previous track record - regarding prophetic dates. Nevertheless, there is a certain poignancy - to stand at this first red pole and to look straight down the line - that you know the sun will travel. The path seems so short. The old saying - "Fruit flies like a banana - but "Time flies like an arrow." Or whichever. (Try translating THAT into Chinese.) As noted before - we seem to be having a pleasant summer. All the predicted dire events - have so far failed to materialize. The pot continues to be stirred - but still it doesn't boil. Just this week has been very intense. Greek elections. Egyptian elections. Russian/Syrian/Turkey Connections. Syrian defections. Euro rejections. Bank/stock inflections. China/Vietnam island conjections. Iranian nuclear conjections. Stock market corrections. All week long from hour to hour - I could speculate on whether - Syria would respond to Syrian plane defection to Jordan? Turkey would respond to Syria shooting down Turkey plane? Euro would crash based on Greek Election? Euro would crash based on Spain's bank defaults? Whether downgrading of 21 US and European banks would crash the stock market? Whether multiple rocket strikes on Israel would start Middle East conflict? Events in Iran. Events in Japan. Events in China. Events in India. Events in Afghanistan. Events in Pakistan. Enough plots and subplots to make a novel the size of War and Peace. I would hold off writing a newsletter - to see how a particular thing would work out. Whether oil goes down - or gold up - or vice-versa - but I really don't understand the significance of any of these things except to say as did Shakespeare of the pot - Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. (Macbeth - Act 4, Scene 1) Each of us have enough toil and trouble in our own lives - that we hardly need to look at the world soap opera for more. As I look at the problems of others around me - I just stop and count my innumerable blessings. -------- (Wow! At this point I was interrupted in mid-sentence, almost exactly 24 hours ago.) I have had to deal with numerous correspondences and phone calls from about the world - on a variety of issues - so that I am just now getting back to this. I shall have to finish off this newsletter somewhat briefly - if I am going to get it sent off this evening. Both SAFE and WLP have been somewhat in convulsions for the last several hours - requiring amendments to web pages - smoothing of some ruffled feathers and so forth. As the State TEAM Leaders are aware - we are in the midst of reorganization. Mark has resigned and Charles Dark has taken over as the US National TEAM Leader Coordinator. Please volunteer as a TEAM Leader or Assistant TEAM Leader. There are currently six States without TEAM Leaders - and all the states need assistants: Alabama Maine New Jersey Rhode Island Utah Vermont and Maryland needs replacement because John is about to retire and move. In the next few months - Charles hopes to find and appoint assistant Regional Coordinators for each region and assistant TEAM Leaders for each state. In essence - we continue to build structure in anticipation of a time when there may be immense interest. We recognize that interest may come too late - but if the opportunity arises we want to be prepared to help as many prepare as we can. As you will see above many of the elements that will be necessary for people to reach us - and for us to reach them - are being pulled together by the activity coordinators. I could write more about the situation here at Ark Two - and about the events in the news - (even in the last hours) - but if I am going to get this off this evening I must stop now. It will take me another couple of hours to format this for mailing. We can all see that the events of just this day in Egypt Palestine Syria Iran will put Israel more on edge. It is significant that the President Putin is visiting there from Russia. But no - no time for speculation. We must all just watch and work.
