because so much is going on here.
The Presto Wind
hand powered generator
has arrived in Canada
from Tim in Ohio -
and Tom, Jeff and David
brought it up from Toronto.
Of all the marvelous things -
I found a working Stairmaster
that someone threw away at the dump -
and we are going to try to interface that -
to the generator.
The diesels remain an immense problem.
Needing a special wrench
that David is going to try to get from
Caterpillar -
and Glen brought the wires -
but took them away -
so I am hoping he will send them soon.
Step by step.
Ian tried a different special wrench
that didn't work.
Darlene spent the whole day of Saturday
trying to set up a compiler -
that Fred told us was going to be a challenge.
We may have to examine other paths
in order to get the Radio Software that we want.
Still waiting on Bob -
to finish the exciter/amplifier interface
so Adam can continue with the board layout.
Victoria arrived on Sunday.
We haven't gotten up to speed yet on the videos
but here is one she has up on YouTube.

Lots of projects not even half finished.
Jeff is an engineer with CAD experience
and is looking into doing the pump drawings
that we want to put on the web site.
Peter has found some even more interesting designs.
I am far from catching up with
Mark on the TEAM Leader structure -
Rich on the Wordpress Blog Template
for all the State TEAM Leaders -
Rob on the FaceBook Template
for all the State TEAM Leaders -
Carl on the mail list database structure
and upload procedure to Mad Mimi -
and Wendy is due back from Alberta next week -
to once again try to get the enrollment form
to work correctly.
We have lots of big projects planned for this summer.
Besides getting the generators going -
David has said he will try to get more gravel
for the parking lot -
we need to put a surface on the loading dock -
Jeff is guiding us on putting up the water tower -
Peter may get us a pump going to it from the waterfall -
we need a new non-electric mechanical pump from the well -
we need to move the gate house -
and there are many other such Ark Two shelter tasks.
As people say -
I need another couple of big projects -
and we are working on them.
The first big new project is that we need to put
ten novelettes onto Amazon,
for 99cents each - or FREE.
The idea isn't to make money -
but to introduce people to the
SAFE and TRIAD concepts.
The plan for the ten book series
is that it will be divided
into five sub-series.
City
Suburb
Town
Village
Farm
The first book
in each of these five sub-series
opens with what happens in that locale
on the Day of the Catastrophe
and for several weeks or months afterwards.
The second book
in each of the five sub-series
is set two years later in the same locale.
The co-authors, with my self
for each book are as follows.
City - Mark Howard
Suburb - David C. Kleinberg, M.D.
Town - Jeanie Douglas
Village - Michael E. Starkey
Farm - Skip Coryell
A bit of a background on the writers:
Mark is Region VIII and Utah TEAM Leader.
David is South Dakota TEAM Leader
and (still practicing) retired Naval doctor.
Jeanie teaches is Missouri TEAM Leader and
(teaches 2 classes in Human Resources
on-line for Columbia College).
Michael is North Carolina TEAM Leader
and an extremely diverse background
(over four hundred "course credits"
at assorted Universities and Colleges world-wide)
Skip is a publisher
http://www.whitefeatherpress.com/
with numerous books,
(both by himself and others,
and with a strong interest in Second Amendment Rights).
As we go along -
we will most certainly welcome your offers to edit -
and also, because these are formula books -
creative ideas to fill the format.
Each novelette will be 99 pages
with 15 chapters of approximately 6 pages in length.
While the overall plot is as I have mentioned -
this means that we need 150 sub-plots
for the 150 chapters in total.
I hope to report more on this project as it proceeds.
The second big new project is that
we are talking about a speaking tour
in the fall.
Ninety cities in 90 days -
start September 5th
and ending December 5th.
I would like to hit all 50 states -
and it would work this way.
A state TEAM Leader would set up
the location(s) for their state.
They would make arrangement with some organization
like a Food Bank -
to be the sponsor.
The sponsor would sell tickets
for 10-20-30 dollars or whatever.
Say 300 tickets for
10
would give them
3,000.
We will NOT charge
a speakers fee -
accept an honorarium -
pass a collection -
or have donations for presentation.
Nor will we sell books -
or do anything else that generates money -
for this is a gift to those communities -
with all proceeds going to the community.
In this way the sponsoring organization
should be able to get free
TV
Radio
Newspaper advertising -
and the free use of a community hall -
so that ALL the proceeds will go
to their cause.
Originally,
I thought to fly between locations -
but I may be on a no-fly list.
Besides -
the time getting into and out of airports -
the possibility of disruptions
because of some unexpected cause such as weather -
and so forth -
led us to the idea of driving.
Jeff has connections with some large music groups
and their tour buses are not busy at that season.
He thinks that we may be loaned one.
In that way others may accompany me for support.
(A movie company
has asked for an option -
and might be able to help with expenses.)
Even Jean could come along -
but I think it is too much for her.
Yesterday we learned that the operation
was not successful -
and they are scheduling a repeat in August.
Even then -
the expense of fuel for a bus -
(we would also have to pay their driver)
the inconvenience of parking it -
and the difficulty of getting around in a city -
leads me to think that a small van is the answer.
It will have to be a substantial 40-50K van
(something we would lease -
or obtain through some other arrangement) -
with a co-pilot captain seat
and a captain seat in the back
where I can sleep while traveling.
Rae is looking into accompanying us
and being the coordinator.
He is already committed to being at
a Native Event in September -
so we would have to work that into
our itinerary.
So there would be a TRIAD -
Rae, plus the driver
(whom Rae is looking into attaining)
and myself.
All dedicated to delivering the message of
SAFE.
It could work out a little different -
if the Movie Company comes along
and provides the driver.
Lots and lots of details to be worked out.
What the format of the events are to be -
just a couple of hours in the evening -
or a couple of additional meetings during the day -
and whether a panel or moderator is desired
- or whatever.
Anyway,
the whole program is just mainly
an idea or thought at the moment.
There is the issue of funding -
and the issue of world events.
If some world event happens
to give this a lot of momentum -
that will be one thing -
and if there remains as little interest -
as at present -
that is another -
but it is all timing, timing, timing,
and only by preparing in anticipation
can we be ready -
in case the project becomes feasible.
This is just sharing the thinking -
so that TEAM Leaders and others
can start thinking about it also.
So -
how is the world doing at this moment.
Lots of people who write to me
are very excited about Fukushima.
Yes, Fukushima is a possibility -
but I think Japan has greater problems for sure.
Lack of electric generation.
The price of oil.
The reduction of industry -
brought about by world recession -
the damage to its infrastructure by the Tsunami -
the struggle with NK and China.
Other countries are certainly having problems also.
Greece is gripping with the Euro -
or the Euro is gripping with Greece -
however you want to put it.
The whole of the Middle East is in the grips
of social unrest -
and the problem between Israel and Iran
shows no evidence of subsiding.
I regularly receive
from readers with connections to the military -
alerts of events and activities.
Greatly appreciated.
PLEASE keep sending them.
Each one by itself -
is such that I often don't report it -
but cumulative I can say
the activity continues to increase.
Some of the things that I hear
are often so unbelievable that I feel that
I can't repeat them -
but then they gain credibility
in the overall picture of what I am receiving.
Nevertheless,
there is general information available
about two aircraft carrier task forces
now in the Iran theatre,
the doubling of minesweepers stationed in Bahrain,
the addition there of minesweeping helicopters,
coastal patrol boats being retrofitted with missiles.
New advanced torpedoes and mini-drone subs.
Additional F-22s and F-15s heading for bases in the Gulf.
The new unmanned long range/long duration (days/weeks) planes.
Great shipments of more powerful bombs
and more advanced weapons
to Israel.
All that alone
should be enough to make me say - "Uh-oh!"
but then this week's missing H-Bomb story -
was just too much to repeat.
Totally unbelievable -
except for the 3 flown to Louisiana last year -
and the testimony of the 170 retired officers
at the Washington Press Club.
I don't know - so I won't repeat it -
but on the other hand -
don't want you to think
that I didn't hear about it.
Others will tell you how much better things are.
That the price of oil is going down this week -
that stock market prices are fairly stable -
that the dollar is gaining because of the Euro and Greece -
that unemployment is dropping -
(because bunches ran out of entitlement this week) -
that there have not been any:
hurricanes -
major earthquakes -
volcanoes -
CMEs from the sun -
confrontations from the OWS crowd -
major race riots.
All seems relatively cool,
including the weather -
and if the world is going to go on this way -
there is no need for me to plan a tour.
Peace and love,
Bruce
