You cannot win a nuclear war

When asking whether there will be a nuclear war, the thought occurs that it might be worse to have no nuclear war at all.
But how could not having one be worse than having one?

What then would happen if one was to make that choice?

What would happen to Volunteers who disregard the warning:
Get out of the city.
Get out of the city.
Get out of the city.

Even if you wanted to help.
For those fortunate enough to be in a city that did not suffer a nuclear weapons attack the question may arise on how to go on living after such events have occurred.
A blueprint for what can be done to make the story of the woman more attainable. The woman, taking her child to the grocer, meeting another woman on the road and chatting as the kids interact nearby,
The point is that the first points of needs of farmers and other survivors are currently met:
1. Safety
2. Shelter
3. Water -> but the story does not mention running tap water
4. Food
5. Heat -> but the story says nothing about electric central heating

This is just an excerpt of what everyone can read in his spare time.
And whoever does so becomes more knowledgeable for the case the unthinkable happens.
While location matters, it might be a great deal better where you are then elsewhere.

There might be people who get a place to go.
In Ark Two.
