While the evidence certainly allows not for any verification of some products of imagination (such as the nature of those commandeering the crafts, nor their intentions) the sheer existence of those phenomena, in the light of the prevalence of the existence of nuclear weapons on this planet, and the always lingering possibility of their usage, is an unknown factor that has to be considered in all future war games to be conjured up.
It doesn't help that one has no verifiable information on the nature or the intent on those sending those crafts into Earths atmosphere.
The relevance of nuclear weapons gets emphasized by their presence.
Other than that, the nuclear weapons remain a huge elephant in the room, with yet another unknown actor factoring in into their potential usage.
