So - What Worries You?

Late getting out the newsletter this week because of the intensity of activity here. Lots of it has been shoveling snow. Hours of that. And cutting firewood. That also took hours but five people came to help.

Intense activity about the radio. Engineers got together for one day - but progress has been much slower than I hoped. Darlene still making progress on the software, and I am working on the manual.

World news - world views - change so often that anything that I might write, would change before the week is out. For example the MSM reported that if the sequestration goes through on March 1st, that the US Army would 'furlough' (leave without pay) 800,000 civilian employees. I thought - "Wow!" Glad that I didn't report it. Qualifications appeared all week. Well - it wouldn't be all at once - or everyone. In fact it wouldn't start until late April. Even then it would be for only one day a week. From "Wow" to "Maybe nothing" in about thirty seconds. Well, actually it took a week - but it shows just how much of the 'news' that I (or anyone reading MSM ) get - is meaningless. It wasn't just this one article - but several on several different subjects.

What is true? What to believe? What to be concerned about? The info that I get from alternative sources is often considerably worse. I am going to give two examples that came last week, that I prepared to put in the newsletter - but then didn't have room. But first, a quote from Mark Twain who once observed that
"it ain't what you don't know
that gets you in trouble,
it's what you 'know' that ain't so."

The following is the kinds of stuff that I hear about all week long (thanks in part to all of you sending me a heads-up when you hear or see something locally or in the news. DO PLEASE KEEP DOING THAT). One exciting one last week that could have gone viral was a concerned notification that I got about the government putting out a whole bunch of 'request for tenders' by the Justice Department in BC to handle a mass of fresh cadavers in the 9 month period starting March 1st.

Body Bags in Canada?

The people sending me the info saw pages of lists each with many different locales like the following:

      Kamloops Region

    Monte Lake 1
    Pritchard 2
    Chase 8
    Barriere 11
    Kamloops 105
    Savona 1
    Ashcroft 1
    Cache Creek 6
    Spences Bridge 5
    Lower Nicola 3
    Merritt 25
    Logan Lake 11
    Sorrento 3
    Quilchena 1
    Heffley Creek 1
    Scotch Creek 2
    Lee Creek 1
    Adams Lake 2
    Knutsford 1
    Pinantan Lake 4
    Little Fort 2
    Clearwater 9
    70 Mile House 1
    Clinton 5

    Total 211

They thought the request was for that number of vehicles in each of the locations. It took me an hour to track down what it was about. In point of fact - the number was that number of bodies in each location, but the number given was the number of bodies for the last year as a guideline to possible usage for the coming time period. Still, don't know how they generate that number of bodies, or where they come from, but people do die. In prison and elsewhere.

There was lot of breathless going on in sites discussing this, and I thought "shades of the American orders for casket containers and body bags!" I appreciate people letting me know when they see something unusual they don't understand. I would say that greater than 95% of the threats that I hear about - turn out to be nothing. Anyway, I emailed all the excited sources and links, so I hope I scotched that one before it went viral. But - I keep looking and listening.

These are DUMB

Here was a second one last week. The report that I got (with the picture) was about this marvelous atomic powered machine the government has that will dig tunnels at the rate of 7 miles per hour, and leave behind no residue. This was really interesting to check out and I learned a lot about tunnel digging machines that have been around since the 1800s.

The concern is about DUMBs (Deep Underground Military Bases). The North Koreans have proven great at their tunnel building. The Chinese also with over 3,000 miles of tunnels, and the one's in Russia are reported to be immense. I am sure there are more in the US than we can imagine.

The following are some links about the real thing.

Super Machines

Wikipedia

Some Statistics

Or you can just look at this picture that was being circulated.

boring machine

Bottom line is this is:

Herrenknecht AG of Schwanau, Germany in 2005
6,375 horsepower.
19m diameter tunnel
7m per day through soft ground and clay
800 ton machine

Said 7 miles per day -
but realistically high performance
would be more like 7m (meters - 20+ feet per day).
(They read 7m as 7 miles instead of 7 meters -
and no one bothered to check it out -
and it has been repeated as 7 miles on one site/source after another.)
And this is the evil operator:

the evil operator

There are some YouTube videos out there but it would be pretty difficult to get pictures of any real DUMBs, other than myself. At least that is what people say of me for having buried 42 school buses.

DUMBS

So - What Is Your Worry?

The issue/concern should be - what are the real issues and concerns. I picked up from another source this week, the following calculation method of what should concern you. Your priorities are determined by multiplying the first column times the second to obtain the third (your priority). You rate the first column on a scale of zero to ten as what you think is the probability, and the second on a scale of one to ten as to the degree of disasterous impact that you think it would have on your life.

      Event-------------Probability-----'-Effect----Total

    Nuke war--------------.2---------------10---------2
    Pandemic---------------1---------------9----------9
    Job Loss----------------7---------------7---------49
    Burglary----------------2---------------6---------18
    Physical Attack--------2---------------8---------16
    Disability----------------5---------------8--------40
    Hurricane/Storm-------9---------------6---------54

That was the source's list. Certainly not mine. I definitely don't put nuke war at decimal .2, but most people would. The list is unrealistic in other ways. Auto accidents, suicide, and a host of other things that would have more likelihood than some on the list. However, each one can make up their own list - and there may be some merit in the old Irish proverb.

    "Why worry?
Either you will be well, or you will be sick.
If you are well, then there is no reason to worry.
    If you are sick,
you will either get well or you will die.
If you get well, then there is no reason to worry.
If you die, you will either go to heaven or go to hell.
If you go to heaven, then there is no reason to worry.
    If you go to hell,
you'll be so busy shaking hands with friends
that you won't have any time to worry..."

I think there is a lot of truth hidden in the latter. The thing that we all really need to concern ourselves about is whether or not we are doing the Will of God. One way or the other we are going to depart this world - and eternity is a long time.

Watching the Weather

In the previous newsletter I discussed some prophecies and there is one more I had wanted to cover and that was about the weather. The following is up to date for last month and there is more to add for this month and I am pretty sure also for the month(s) coming.

weird weather

Then there is the Sun and Earthquakes

There is not only earth weather but solar weather that one needs to watch, which when I started to write about this last week was not much - but now this week a big sun spot has shown up. Quite a bit of seismic activity about the world these days. However, the one in the Koreas is being contributed to possibly the nuclear test there.

An interesting real time source for the thousands of earthquakes and hundreds of volcanoes happening about the earth each day is:

real time earthquake watch

A Final Word

This has been sort of a strange newsletter. (Many of mine are.) However, - since I can't really pin anything down about the news, I have done this - this time.

Let me also put in a plea, one more time - that if there is someone who would like to move to Ark Two who could Jean a hand, we would sure like to hear from them.

Peace and love,

The Ides of February

The meteor was not what I expected - but then lots this week that I didn't expect. For the last several months I have been saying, "Beware the Ides of February". The famous warning was of course to Julius Caesar, to beware the Ides of March.

If I did any of this on a 'prophetic' basis - I could say - "See!" But I don't. I was talking about financial forces such as the situation with the Euro in Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy, combined with the US Fiscal Cliff and the global trade imbalances between Japan, China. However, none of that happened and the wounded world economy continues to limp along.

Current events still give us lots to talk about:
    The meteor

    The Death of Dorner

The State of the Union address

The Supreme Court Ruling on Obama

    The Prophecy of the Popes

    The North Korea Earthquake
I had on my list to write about this week:
    The Canadian body bag scare

    The tunnel threat

    Weird weather extremes
However, I will cover those next time, unless more important news pre-empts them.

You may wish to join Selco's new discussion group. He is the VERY experienced survivor from Bosnia.

Current Battle in Syria

Along the same line as the realism about what happened in Bosnia - if you would like an up-to-date (last entry supposedly 5 days ago on the 13th) candid camera report of the situation in Syria - you can look at this link which does very much tie into the realism dealt with in the former link. Think how fortunate you are to not to be in Syria where over 70,000 have been killed.

The Asteroids and Fireballs

The asteroid and Fireballs certainly caught a lot of people by surprise. While conventional wisdom among astronomers is that the two were unrelated not everyone is so sure. It did seem to be an accompanying swarm although it is said the asteroid was East/West and the Fireballs (at least the one in Russia) came in North/South. Whichever. There were a number of exceptionally massive Fireballs throughout the world. Not that we don't get them all the time. Dozens each day. Just usually smaller, during the daytime when not so visible, and over the large water and uninhabited portions of the planet so that they go unnoticed.

These were big, visible and many. NOAA states that on February 12, 2013 there were 1380 potentially hazardous asteroids. Nothing unusual, just the usual count, except that this one was a once in forty year occurrence of an asteroid half the size of a football field coming within a third of the distance from earth to the moon. Inside the orbits of the geostationary satellites. In astronomical terms - a very near miss.

Even if unrelated, the large Fireball was also said to be a once in hundred year occurrence. I have seen widely varying estimates of its force - up to that of eight Hiroshimas. We can learn a lot about nuclear expectations from this event. People saw the flash, waited three minutes - and then went to their windows. That is when the blast caught them. Over a thousand people were injured. They had been taught duck and cover - and thought they had waited long enough - but the blast was very high up and it takes the force wave a lot longer to travel than the light wave.

There was a lot of checking immediately thereafter for radioactivity, and of course there was none, and there wasn't EMP to knock out the power over a wide range. But consider this, what if it had been a nuclear explosion, not necessarily nearly that large, and 300-400 miles up. You wouldn't feel any of the blast, (the Russian meteor came right into ground level) and you might not even see the flash, especially in the daytime. Yet, a HEMP (High-altitude Electromagnetic Pulse) of that force/power over the US would turn off the lights - more or less permanently (at least most for a very long time).

This was all very interesting to me and shows that while we keep our noses to the ground - we are all still very much a part of the cosmos. Some links follow about the near asteroid miss and the Fireball - if they interest you.

I particularly like this one
which has a NASA simulation video at the bottom.

The Death of Dorner

Many of the relavent emotions were expressed dramatically in the current movie musical, "Les Miserables", and a parody from South Korea that practically went viral this week.

No one gets the million dollar reward for information relating to his capture - because they knew from the outset that he was going to be executed rather than captured. The SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) at least since Waco has been to burn them out. Well actually before that. John Wilkes Booth (who shot Abraham Lincoln) was trapped in a barn - so he was burned out way back then. It is also SOP to deny it. ("We just filled the building with explosive gas and it happened to catch fire.")

There may be multiple meanings to expressions such as "fire" and "burn" - such as in the Bible Romans 1:27 "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." So, live recordings of the police shouting: "We're going to burn him out," may indeed have just been innuendo. But listen to the recorded live dialogs and decide for yourself.

I thank many of you for your comments on Dorner's manifesto. I was aware at the time that what I linked was a sanitized and shortened version but I didn't then have a link to the full version.

It has already spawned another officer manifesto.

In the media, although not so much from my correspondence, I see Dorner referred to as deranged, or otherwise derogatorily categorized, but I am not inclined to agree. Well, other than that all of us are insane to the degree that we are separated from God and he does himself proclaim such separation.

By what measures other than that could we call him insane? One standard measure used by psychiatrists in committing individuals is whether or not they are a danger to themselves or others. He does certainly fit that measure, but then does not every trained and motivated soldier that enters the field of battle? Yes, war is insanity - but then sometimes necessary.

Reading Dorner's long essay, I find his reasoning very logical (as is that of many who are insane), but more than that I find outstanding his empathy regarding both his friends and enemies, but certainly not his sympathy regarding the latter. Still, what should we expect from someone whom we have trained professionally to kill, and in his professionalism he showed concern for those he tied up, released or warned away.

It is probably not considered apropos to have been sympathetic to the bull in a bullfight but as in the previously cited examples of "Les Miserables" the villain sometimes appears to be the hero. We did not know what twists and turns the real life drama would take but we pretty much knew the end of the story. Judgment had already been made that he would not be brought to trial. Planned instead was his approved assassination by drone (as announced in the MSM), if it had been possible.

The State of the Union address

The timing of the real life drama of a fugitive in flight almost upstaged Obama's State of the Union address as we watched the police corner Dorner.

Watching the speech with me, Jean said - "Obama is an excellent speaker."

Well, yes. He does have excellent speech writers, reliable teleprompters, good speech coaches with whom he practices the speech before-hand, and the whole thing is highly scripted, with camera positions, camera cuts, lighting, supporting cast all tightly planned out. A great production and performance, but more detached from reality than the parody I mentioned earlier. He has no solutions.

The three most serious domestic problems in the US, at the moment, are racism, morality and unemployment. I know, the media and most people will tell you that it is the deficit, but in reality the deficit as a percentage of GDP is about where it has been for decades.

Unemployment in the US, by cumulative measure, is 14.4 percent. Still lower than the Great Depression rate of 20% and although unemployment compensation has run out for many there is on the one hand more of a social safety net and on the other hand a greater difficulty for many in that more live off the farm. In actuality, because of the increased size of the population - there are many more now unemployed than there were during the Great Depression. That means, in a sense, more suffering.

The difficulties for many are immense. Returning veterans (over 6,000 suicides last year), released prisoners from the world's largest penal system, medicated non-institutionalized mental patients, non-continuing high school graduates, and certain demographic categories as to age and race.

Obama's main solution was more education. But that is nonsense. If all those graduating from college could find jobs it would encourage high school graduates to go onto college and if all those graduating from high school could get jobs - it would encourage high school dropouts to complete high school. The problem is lack of jobs - not lack of education. Let me further state that jobs do not depend upon consumption, although consumption may depend upon jobs.

The Supreme Court Ruling on Obama

Still watching for the outcome of the following:

On Feb. 15, all nine justices were to gather in conference to review whether Obama used forged government documents and fake identification in order to get elected as commander-in-chief. While there are many 'far right' (well further out than that) links to the subject - there are no MSM links on the subject and the most current links on Friday the 15th, simply reaffirm that they were to meet that day. No special interest in this on my part, just that I follow 'oddball' news items that may foretell future news events, and since I mentioned it last time - I wanted to follow up.

Obama has enough problems without that. Maybe the Ides of February were as significant for him as the Ides of March were for Caesar although March has much going for Obama also. There is still the budget thing and he is off to Israel to visit with Netanyahu. All these people have more problems than you would want to shake a stick at. Iran is accelerating its nuclear development, Syria is folding and Bashaar says he won't go down quietly. Hezballah says that it is ever more ready to take on Israel in Lebanon and Egypt is repudiating any previous offers of friendship towards Israel. Turkey too has jumped ship. Israel doesn't have too many friends other than Obama.

Reminds me of the Amish story. Where the one old Amish said to another. "Brother, they are all wrong, except me and thee - and sometimes I wonder about thee." Makes one worry about their beard. There is always the Samson Option - but Samson lost his during the night when he was asleep. I suspect Netanyahu is trying to stay pretty alert.

The Prophecy of the Popes

The future and ending of events is often determined by their beginnings. How determined is the future? Another event this week has certainly led me to ponder that question. If you are not aware of the Prophecy of the Popes - you may find the following two links of interest.
Wikipedia Article

A Youtube Presentation

Certainly a part of the general historical record for at least four hundred years and since Gutenberg and the printing press. So, here is a prophecy that the next Pope is to watch over Armageddon. (Some say to be the last Pope - but whatever.)

You are going to hear a lot of hype about a book called "Petrus Romanus" but forget that. Its 2012 dates are already past. Some people tie all this into Nostradamus. The prophecy of Tecumseh had a good run also - but then it petered out. There is still George Washington's Vision. Last year's popular prediction was the Mayan Calendar. However, the Prophecy of the Popes does seem to have a better or more proven track record, so far, than any of the above.

Lots more that I would like to cover - but this is too long already.

I will have to mention the earthquake in North Korea - but we all know where that came from. The source is more likely to cause social quakes in South Korea, Japan, and even China and Taiwan. Word at this moment is that there is more to come.

Peace and love,
Bruce

The Most Challenging Issue

When social collapse occurs in the United States the most vital and challenging issue will be the conflict between the races.

Last week I sent you photos of preparations that are being made for that conflict. Many times in the past I have warned about this problem and have explained how it will be accentuated by the fact that many returning veterans have been thoroughly trained in the skills described in
Dorner's Manifesto

I am going to make this an extremely short newsletter because I would like everyone to actually read the Manifesto. It is admittedly lengthy and while it has been disparaged off-the-cuff by much of the media and characterized in a very negative way by those who hold racial prejudice, it is in fact a very cogent and well stated position.

It is important to read it and UNDERSTAND it and the motives behind it. Only then can you understand one of the serious challenges you may be facing.

I would like for you to ask yourself these questions (and answer them).
    1. Do you believe the things he is complaining about actually took place?

    2. Do you believe that his complaints are legitimate?

    3. Do you think that during societal collapse there will be many copy cats who will gain a following?
I very much welcome your comments about this. Prejudiced replies such as - "I don't need to read this - because I already know the answer", won't be helpful. I understand the answer that many already have in mind - but that won't work.

This event ties in with the facts released this week by the Veteran's Affairs Administration that 70% of the presently returning veterans under treatment by them have some form of a mental problem.

Contribute these events to whatever you will - they are lying below the surface and will erupt.

Peace and love,
Bruce

What is Significant?

Lots of things happening each week. What gives me pause is wondering WHAT DOESN'T MAKE THE NEWS that may being planned or occur in some room somewhere such as in the Pentagon or its equivalent in Russia, China, or elsewhere - or some chamber equivalent to the executive offices of the White House, or some corporate boardroom, or some unknown laboratory. What is really important we can probably never know and most likely wouldn't truly understand its significance if we were told about it.

All that we know about are those things that eventually bubble to the surface. The things that change the course of history are often random events that are unexpected by those who consider themselves the planners and guides of humanity's social destiny. Still, while we may not know the match that may start the conflagration, we can look about and see signs that indicate the wetness or dryness of the forest.

Such small news items, such as the following, are all that I receive and that I can share with you.

I wrote for the last several weeks about the importance of the Israeli elections. Well, they have come and gone - and to my surprise, and to the surprise of most all observers, and the polls that had been taken, while Netanyahu won, it was with nothing the margin that was anticipated and so consequently was not a clear signal that he would proceed against Iran.

Still, Israel remained at the center of International news in that it struck a target deep inside Syria. Chastised as they may have been by numerous countries, no immediate response was forthcoming other than one must note that Russia started evacuating by air 30,000 of its citizens that were in the country. This action in addition to the closing of some consulate offices as reported in the previous newsletter.

As the story unfolded there were many who expected dramatic events within hours, but now days have passed and the status quo seems to remain despite loud noises from Iran. Disruptions in other countries, over other matters, such as soccer in Egypt and abortion in France, have proven much more provocative, turning hundreds of thousands of people into the streets. As I have said - it is difficult to say what is serious and important.

On the other side of the world China and Japan wrestle, at least diplomatically, and North Korea has declared martial law, which seems like a shoot yourself in the foot sort of thing that as usual leaves the rest of the world shaking their heads and wondering what the isolated crazies are up to now. Don't discount them. Just as in local society it is sometimes the loner that jumps on a school bus and kidnaps a random kid - that makes things suddenly turn upside down.

Happened in Iran this last week when a big underground nuclear laboratory suddenly went boom. Those who play with fire can get burnt by fire but there has been so much erratic reporting about that - that I have no idea what is going on. The spectrum has been as broad as disclaimers that nothing happened, to reports that great numbers of workers couldn't be reached, to blaming the Israelis for sabotage, to proclaiming that they would immediately activate much more substantial activities they had been holding back on, to announcements that face-to-face negotiations might take place with the US. Such polar extremes that I have no idea what is going on.

North Korea seems to be their ally in strategy and action and while their ally Russia appears to be pulling out of Syria, whom they have both vowed to defend - one must be cautious in how they interpret these actions. Pakistan is another area with which Iran has a mutual defense policy/commitment and things there have deteriorated to the point that India this week issued warnings to its citizens to prepare fallout shelters. As you know, I don't expect anything to happen immediately, but as you also know - I have been known to be wrong before.

Most of us look upon these international happenings and feel that since there is nothing that we can do about them we may as well ignore them in our day to day life. That life is such a struggle for so many that I hear from, and from other reports that we see in the news. Big headlines this week have been about the number of US military suicides exceeding the number killed in battle.

Much greater, but not so widely reported, is the number of veteran suicides. One every hour. That tells about a lot of suffering but even those numbers do not include the number of attempted suicides, and certainly not the number who contemplate suicide which is surely many fold greater. This must come from an immense pool who are equally well suffering but who are not contemplating suicide. In point of fact a large percentage of veterans have not adjusted well as they join an even greater pool of civilians for whom society just doesn't seem to be working today.

These kinds of numbers about the trees in the forest are reflected in odd little facts about the instability of society today. I could give you a long list - but I am going to provide just one. A new phenomena, totally not present in the American scene fifty, even twenty, perhaps even ten or five years ago. Plans and strategies are in place to block off / cordon off / seal off / isolate / whole sections of American cities.

Chicago Gates 15
These gates that are ready to swing into place
are not light little "do not cross barriers"
like the wooden toll bars that come down in front of a car at a parking lot.
Nor are they the temporary saw horse
or larger kind moved into place for construction.
These are heavy steel that it would take a tank-like vehicle,
say a bulldozer, to get through.

Chicago Gates 13
As you can see above -
sometimes the purpose of the gates
is to keep traffic in
and other times it is to keep traffic out

Chicago Gates 16

Okay, all this is not totally new. From the outset there have been placards saying that the Interstate Highway system would be closed to public travel and would be available only to the military in case of national emergency. (You can think the same of the Internet, telephone, and other communication systems.)

Many parts of cities are already largely isolated from other parts by freeways, rail lines, structures of various kinds. It does not take a lot of ingenuity to figure out how to seal them off. Move a couple of large vehicles into key points, put down strips of road spikes, lift a drawbridge, pull a train of boxcars across the crossings, or simply have a half dozen of these trailers or this standing by in a secure parking lot. Or it can be done by hand. It won't take long.

Still, these give new meaning to the expression 'gated communities'. Think of steerage passengers on the Titanic, or trying to get over the bridge to escape New Orleans. You know my recommendations about this matter. As I said, I am giving only one example but there have been numerous news items just this week about new surveillance drones, sound cannons, street crowd body scanners, camera facial recognition software, and a plethora of other things undreamt of ten year ago. This week, last week, and next week - there will be hundreds, perhaps thousands, of men training in the US with this type of control technology. The question is - are you going to be a controller or a controlee? Oh well, Jesus did say to, "Love thine enemies", which must surely have included to "Love thy keepers."

But enough. I could fill the whole newsletter with subject matter such as this, which I couldn't have even imagined ten years ago. What will you think of this ten years from now? That will have to be your guess - not mine.

So - onto pleasanter matters. Our radio engineers are both away traveling this week but the items they have ordered, are supposed to arrive while they are gone so that on the 15th they may proceed.

Darlene too is making great progress. The following is a screen shot of the User Interface. Not quite as it will appear - but close. For some reason, on my computer, the frequency jogger doesn't appear on the control bar. However, this is near enough to allow me to explain the general idea.

The S.A.F.E. Emergency Messaging System works by hooking the radio up to your computer by two wires that you connect to your computer's sound board connections. One to the speaker plug and the other to the microphone plug. You then control the radio by loading and running the above interface on your computer.

I will go into more detail another time, but do note the following four large areas on the screen.

      1. The large green area is where you see the message that you have selected to receive.

    2. The large white area below the green area is where you type messages that you are going to send.

    3. The white area on the left of the screen is called the multichannel window and is where you can see signals being sent on various frequencies.

    4. The blue window at the bottom is called the waterfall and permits you to see which frequencies are being used in the surrounding PSK31 spectrum. You can select one by moving the red cursor that is on it.
Basically that is the overall concept. Aside from activating the transmit/receive button the rest consists of relative minor details that you use only occassionally.

I plan to write more about the system, both hardware and software, as development continues. More importantly we need to get into the need for the system and how the system fulfills the need.

Who knows what we will be talking about next week - in our ever changing world.

Peace and love,
Bruce
