SAFE Ark Two Newsletter January 27th, 2013 The History of Waco North I often refer to Ark Two as Waco North because of the number of times that we have been raided. We have been raided many, many times, but there have been four major raids. What I call a major raid is when eleven emergency vehicles and over 40 personnel show up simultaneously and unannounced. They then post police tape and won't let us enter our own property. On the other hand if we are already in there - they come in and find us and boot us out while they go through the inside. Since these guys come with what I call AK-47s (I am told they are not that), grenade launchers, body armor, K-9, Command Posts, (and all that), I have always said that if I ever get a knock on the door saying, "This is police - open up", I am going to say, "One minute," then I will strip off all my clothes (I am not all that worried about modesty), throw up my hands as I open the door, and say "No concealed weapons", I am worried about getting shot, and I don't want someone to say - "We thought he was about to draw a weapon." Actually, the Canadian raids have been of a kinder gentler kind. I didn't resist and so far no one has shot me. Yep, I am not your usual type of survivalist. I have told not only the police, but the whole world, over and over again, that we have no weapons and the police have certainly searched our property enough times to know that is true. They used to make a big thing about my kids target bows and arrows, but I can't even use those now, since I am now blind in my aiming eye. I am not about to bite anyone. Can't say that I am toothless, because while I do still have one tooth it would be kind of awkward to try to stab someone with that! Nope, people really don't have anything to worry about from old 'peace and love Bruce'. Anyway, what brings all this about is that there is a rumor that the local Council is again going to try lock/seal/destroy/attack in some way Ark Two. It is not inconceivable that they may come to take me away. I am not privy to their plans and God Willing, it is only a rumor. The friends have asked me what I am going to do? Well, as always, rely upon God. Many times the local Council has attacked me in the past, and always I have tried to comply with their wishes. The American survivalist concept of resistance is not the Canadian way. I have read the current popular survivalist essay: "Never Surrender" ""Never give in, never give in, never; never; never; never - in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense" (Winston Churchill, Oct 29, 1941) The essay states: "Surrender is not an option" and names three phases: The first phase of surrender is failing to be armed, trained and committed to fight. We are prepared to surrender when we are unprepared to resist. The second phase of surrender is failing to be alert. You must see trouble coming in order to have time to respond. The warning may be less than one second but it will be there and it must be recognized and acted upon immediately. The third phase in the essay is a lengthy paean in defense of the Second Amendment and the importance of never surrendering one's arms. But now, I ask you, how did that work out for David Koresh? The Waco Massacre began just twenty years ago this coming month. Seventy-six men, women and children were killed. The parallels and the contrasts are interesting. The parallel is that the children had sheltered in a buried school bus that was built as a refuge. Anyone, who has watched the National Geographic segment on Ark Two will see the parallel. The contrast is that the men in Waco were heavily armed and committed to forceful resistance whereas at Ark Two we have no weapons and are committed to peace, love, and non-violence. The old question of WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?). The answer is "Turn the other cheek", "Love thy enemies", "Bless those who persecute you." The concept of non-violent resistance of Leo Tolstoy, Mohandas Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr. and many others. People ask what that is going to get them in this world, and the answer is "Success" (God willing), and if not in this world then no matter because we all depart from here sooner or later and eternity is much longer. The important thing is to have set the example in this life that Jesus wants us to. For over thirty years Ark Two has been attacked by the local Council. They usually do this by finding some other agency to complain to and by having that agency attack us. We have had to appear in Court dozens of times, and have lost many times, eventually to win on appeal. We conformed to every "Stop Work Order" that we received. We implemented all the suggestions of the Fire Marshal's Office and welded shut the shelter in accordance with the decree and conditions imposed by the Fire Commission, until we had met their requirements before the Building Commission as they had ordered. We completely fulfilled the directives of the Building Commission and the latest directive of the Fire Marshal - so that in all things we are in total compliance. The Council however, has stepped over the line at least five times in its effort to prove the old adage that, "You can't fight City Hall". Their strategy has always been to get someone else to fight their battles for them so that they didn't have any legal expenses. The lawyers have loved it and it has caused us to have to mortgage our home to resist. Unfortunately, one can never say they have won the trophy because the attackers just come back on a new front. Many have asked what their purpose/motive is? I don't know. They have just finished taking on a corporate Goliath that wanted to put in the largest open quarry in North America. Since they won on that they may feel themselves the 'Super Goliath", and are now wanting to take on David. The present members of the Council probably have no idea as to what the motive was of those on the Council over thirty years ago, but the activity has become ingrained. They put it in high sounding terms of their desire to 'protect the public'. When I challenged this concept at a Fire Commission Hearing saying that there were no other shelters to protect the children in case of a nuclear disaster such as I envision - the high minded response was: "Yes, but it is our responsibility to provide the best protection possible and to make sure the shelter meets the highest possible standards." Repeatedly, I hear that they consider the shelter to be a hazard, and for this reason I was required to put a fence around the locked shelter. It sits on top of a 150 foot cliff where trespassing motor bikes repeatedly in sport race right up to the edge! Dozens of such examples could be given - and while I don't see any danger in the shelter it is not my place to question their motives. The motive of Ark Two is well known. We have over a dozen YouTube videos that invariably state that the purpose of Ark Two is not survival but rather to serve humanity and to help reconstruct society. This undoubtedly seems extremely eccentric to most observers. The Impossible Dream Yes, I do identify with Don Quixote, and yes most think that I tilt at windmills. But still, what harm is there in this? What is it about this old man that upsets the Council? They have heritage day and speak of the past. Jean and I are a part of that heritage. By virtue of her age, the oldest residents in the village. She was born in the next house south from where we live and her mother here also two centuries ago. In the 1800's her grandfather operated the mill on the Reserve for Mill where Ark Two is now located. The old man wishes them no ill, and I think causes no ill. He doesn't drink and cause disturbances. He doesn't fight with or confront anyone. He has been respectful of his neighbor's property. What reason not to leave him alone? He doesn't hear voices - but he does seek guidance in prayer, and this is the service that he feels led to do. But, perhaps the Council too seeks guidance in prayer and the Holy Spirit is telling them what they should do. I am sure that the High Priests that sentenced Jesus and His followers, also felt they were being guided by God. So we know not what is for good or ill. There are presently three video groups filming about Ark Two and myself. I am sure that further confrontation will, from their perspective, add to the drama. They will undoubtedly wish to meet with the Council and show also the Council's perspective. As time has progressed, Ark Two has become somewhat famous. Perchance not quite yet to the level of Waco - but because of the National Geographic, millions have seen it and know about it. The series is the most popular that National Geographic has ever done and the episode about Ark Two the most popular episode. For all I know, this could be the Will of God, that a newsworthy event about the attempts to close Ark Two could spring it much more greatly onto public attention. This may be the very means that we can spread our message to the masses. So despair not. Trust in the Lord. I am going to include here a prayer that is very meaningful to me: O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit. Purify my heart. Illumine my powers. I lay all my affairs in Thy hand. Thou art my Guide and my Refuge. I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved; I will be a happy and joyful being. O God! I will no longer be full of anxiety, nor will I let trouble harass me. I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life. O God! Thou art more friend to me than I am to myself. I dedicate myself to Thee, O Lord. So we fight for the The Impossible Dream . Never give up, never surrender, except to the Will of God, for we know not what His purpose is in any of this. As Jean approaches 90 I hope this does not become an unbearable burden for her, but if it continues on for me as far into the future as long as it has been in the past, I shall be 110. Others have counselled me to take a different tack. They feel that attack is the best option and because there is strong evidence that we have been substantially wronged, they have suggested that we sue the Council. Not my style. But then too, I must let others do as they wish to do. One member wishes to start a Friends of Ark Two. His goal is to have ten others join him. To participate in this you should have net assets of at least one million dollars. Each of the Friends of Ark Two will initially put up one thousand dollars and give a retainer of ten thousand dollars to a top name/qualified attorney. They must stand ready to provide additional draws if necessary, which is the reason for the net assets requirement. I won't go into detail about the strategy or aspirations - of the Friends of Ark Two, but suffice it to say that the organizer sees potential large enough to be rewarding and that he feels that there has been a significant evidential violation of civil rights that can be pursued against the Council and individual members therein. So, if you wish to participate in the Friends of Ark Two, contact me and I will put you in contact with the organizer and you can consult among yourselves. None of this may be necessary - because, after all, it may all just be a rumor. SAFE Ark Two Newsletter January 20th, 2013 Further Radio Progress If we continue to make progress on the radio as we have for the last month, I hope to be able to give you some update each week. The radio engineers, Adam and Bob, are planning to spend another day on it this coming Friday. Hopefully Adam will come up on Thursday and stay overnight so that they can spend a full eight hours together on it Friday, as they did last time. In the interim, and separately they both continue to work on aspects of it. Last night Darlene sent a new compile of the User Interface software and Carlton and I have returned a critique. It is coming along VERY well! Below, I will go into detail about what is going on with the radio project - but for the moment to current events: These are some little factoids that many of you may not have seen in the MSM. 1. Israeli election is on Tuesday. Binyamin Netanyahu expected to be returned. Has promised no settlements will be removed. More importantly may have support for action against Iran. Some talk about late Spring (weather window and all that). 2. Iran and IAEA have agreed to further talks on Feb 12th. However, the talks ending yesterday failed to gain IAEA access to Parchin military site. Much speculation as to Iran's current nuclear readiness. 3. Syria coming to a head. This reported two days ago: [Jan 17, 2013] MOSCOW (Reuters) - Two Russian ships heading for a naval exercise off Syria this month are picking up munitions on their way to the Syrian port of Tartous. also "The activity of the consulate of the Russian Federation in Aleppo ... has been temporarily suspended," the Foreign Ministry said in a brief statement. (While supportive of Syria - Russia has been removing personnel for the last month. This is indicative of expected conflict. - Bruce) 4. When I google Italy, Spain, Portugal nothing comes up on the news except about sports. But - I knew from other sources what to look for - so I googled "riots" individually for each one of them. Yep, like everywhere - it is difficult to find the real news. AND - I don't know what is important but I think what is happening because of the Euro is more important than sports. Lots of riots in Britain and elsewhere in Europe. Did you know that? Shush - watch the ballgame. 5. And I can't tell you how important this is - but if it catches on it could really be significant. This week Germany announced that it is going to repatriate some of its gold. All the countries used to leave the gold in each other's vaults and just take title to it. Nope, says Germany. Put it on a ship and send it home. (I spent hours researching gold this week - and I could write a book, but I won't bother you.) 6. In the Great Catastrophe one thing people will think more important than gold is - food. Now, here is an interesting factoid. Chinese grain imports. I look at it through different eyes - just as I do looking at the world's largest mall (which they are still building five years later) and which still stands vacant. (I call the mall a dual purpose building.) Newscasters say the Chinese don't understand supply and demand / market bubbles / modern financing - that they are not good business people. Similarly, about the grain that they are suddenly in one year tripling their imports because they can't feed their people. (Again I see a dual purpose - but you know my paradigm and that none agree with me.) 7. Lots of hot spots for the next 30 days: Mali - Algeria - China / Japan - North / South Korea - Pakistan / India (one of my favorites) - with dozens of places that can flare up in the world (many of the 22 Muslim countries) - Turkey - Iraq. Deep concerns in Russia and many other countries in the world. 8. But not to worry about those. The US has its own possible triggering concerns, and if/when the US goes - the world will go with it. The exponentially increasing debt numbers / the Derivative fiasco / and the potential of some specific events so horrible that while I have mentioned them before, I shall not repeat them again - but as it has been said - if history does not repeat itself - it at least rhymes. 9. Fed reserve and budget cliff. (New York Times - Saturday, January 19, 2013) "The Treasury Department said on Dec. 31, 2012, that it had hit the current authorized borrowing limit of about $16.4 trillion. Officials said that by financial juggling they could keep the government solvent, but only until mid-February (Do note the date- Bruce) or early March." 10. Gun/weapon distraction. People are upset about twenty children in Sandy Hook - but while Obama has special news conferences about that - he has released drones against hundreds. All such policies are justified says Albright and this man. I get emails about new weapons. Boeing's EMP. Still just a local weapon. Nothing like the EMP associated with nuclear WW3. But if in your commitment to the right to bear arms you think everyone should be allowed to build their own nuke then this poor man's guided missile (quadracopter) will appeal to you. The quadracopter was a hot item at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show last week). Many versions you can look up on the Internet. Remote control - on board camera. Payload. Stealth launch from a cube van with a rollback roof. I won't draw you a picture. Google map target / cell phone GPS. One man operation. 30 mph - quarter mile high - operated from 3 or 4 miles away. What compound can stop this? Then down and sweep in over the trees and at 3a.m. target the bedroom of any mansion. Miles away they would pull over politely for the fire trucks, ambulances, police cars coming towards them and soon watch it on the TV from home. I don't think banning quadracopters will solve the problem. What is needed is the creation of a just society and a different culture. 11. For months I have said the Ides of February for some significant events. We are now less than 30 days and counting. Here is one more off the wall: On Feb. 15, all nine justices of the US Supreme Court scheduled to gather in conference to review whether Obama used forged government documents and fake identification in order to get elected as commander-in-chief. I could go into the procedural factoids of this matter - but who knows if it will have any significance. So much for the news. No analysis or policy recommendations here. Just factoids. Interpret them as you will. You know my paradigm. Paradigms may differ. Facts don't. Do with them in your paradigm as you will. So now to the Ark Two activity. Victoria has a new video for you. Ark Two #19 - Expedient Shelters. Last time, I didn't get the picture of the prototype board up on a couple of the mirrors - so some of you didn't see it when you clicked in. I have it up there now. So here is that link again. In our rapidly changing world we are changing the radio cabinet design again. The bench prototype version 1, was three boards and in version 2 as shown above we had reduced this down to one board - but I explained that we wouldn't be able to get it into the desired 1 gallon can for shipping. One of the readers, Mikael, suggested one board above the other, so that is presently the plan. I couldn't buy one sample bucket package, so I had to get five - but they have arrived and look like that below. The shipping box The idea is that we will ship the radio in the can with insulation inside the can on top and bottom and surrounding the radio (in addition to the insulation that holds the can in the box). I also received a sample clasp to fit to the can - but that may take some more thought. A wire from the clasp to a coldwater pipe - and your radio will be stored in a Faraday cage. Inside the shipping container I have measured space for the manuals but there are some other materials such as an antenna and possibly a balun that we will have to consider about how to get in. Adam is supposed to be ordering a sample radio cabinet that looks like this: The Radio Cabinet I have turned the picture vertical because that is the way that the radio would fit into the can. We would put the radio into the can vertically upside down - so that a smooth surface of the radio (except for the locking screws) would be on the insulation on the bottom of the can. The other surface beneath the lid would have some connectors - also covered by insulation. There would be enough room in the curvature of the can for the radio controls on one side, and the feet on another side, for the radio cabinet to slip in. There may also be heatsinks on top of the cabinet. But it is all a very tight fit. I hope that I will have further progress to report in the next newsletters. The real subject about the radios, as to how they are to be used and our goals for them, are something that we haven't yet begun to touch upon. This newsletter is Copyleft: and may be used by anyone. SAFE Ark Two Newsletter January 15th, 2013 Radio Progress This newsletter is late because of the intensity of the weekend. Radio engineers, Adam and Bob, made great progress on Friday. Adam came on Thursday and stayed overnight so that they could spend a full eight hours together on the radio on Friday. Below, I will go into detail with a picture about what they accomplished. Amer came on Sunday for eight hours and shot footage on how to build a radiation detector. It was supposed to be YouTube #18 but I didn't have it ready for Victoria so she worked on #19 Expedient Shelters for this week. Held her up on that also because I couldn't get to the voice-overs until Monday, which I then spent the full day on. As full a day as I can do with the wood stove and so forth. However, didn't have to shovel snow. The rain took care of that for me. Unfortunately, just now that the #19 YouTube upload failed this morning so I will send the newsletter without it. Lady in her 90's that I thought they might be moving to a nursing home - passed on. Lived three doors up from the shelter. Asking 160K for her place, but it may be gone already because I don't see a sign any longer. The other place three doors from us has never had a sign and I think they are asking 144K. Has five rental rooms. I do wish people sympathetic to our cause would move in. It has only been about every two years that some reasonable house has become available. By virtue of Jean's age, I guess we are now the oldest residents of the village. Jean was born in the next house south from us and her mother here also - now two centuries ago. Time is taking its toll with us. It would be great if some energetic lady wanted to move up here and live with us, because Jean really needs a hand. She still drives, and doesn't use a cane - but has really slowed down. The New Prototype Board Bench Prototype Version 1 consisted of three boards and for Bench Prototype Version 2 we have gotten down to one board. I am hoping that for Bench Prototype Version 3 we may be able to reduce the size down to fit into a metal case that is 6.0 inches x 4.0 inches x 2 inches which would would in turn fit into a one gallon metal bucket for shipping - that would also act as a Faraday cage. This goal may be overly ambitious. The problem is that closeness of the components might cause RF interference and it would also increase the heat problem. Since my writing the above - I have an email from Adam saying he doesn't think that 6x4 is possible - so the 8 inches by 6 inches size you see, is probably about the size you will get, or maybe maybe a little smaller down to around 7x5. The cabinets we have at the moment are actually 4 inches tall - so we may be able to find something a little lower profile. But still, by not getting down to the smaller size, we are going to have to use a two gallon bucket as the Faraday cage. The one gallon buckets that I wanted to use are more standard, so two gallon will cost considerably more and add to the packaging and shipping costs. The new prototype is not yet performing up to the spec that we obtained with the first bench prototype - but Adam and Bob plan to get together again on January 25th for another session. In the interim, both are working on a number of tasks to identify/isolate/remedy the problem. I will now go through a full description of the board so that you can know what you are looking at in the picture. This will probably be only of interest to technical types but here goes: To follow all this it is probably easier if you open the picture of the board in a separate window - and here is a link if you wish to do so: 1. Starting at the top right hand corner and off the board - is a butterfly switch that moves between transmit and receive. It will be mounted on the same panel face as the large red light below it. 2. The large red light is the transmit light. I wanted this to be very prominent because I don't want anyone to accidently leave the transceiver in transmit mode. The switch could have been a momentary PTT (Push To Talk) switch but because our concept is to send somewhat longer digital messages we are designing it to stay on until turned off. 3. Working on down the board - the tiny black component above the yellow LED is the transmit enabling device. Because it is illegal in peacetime for anyone except advanced hams to use this transceiver to transmit PSK31 it will be delivered with the transmitting capability disabled. The unit, right out of the package, will be fully operational as a receiver, which is legal for anyone to use, but to use it to transmit one will have to take a screwdriver and open the unit and insert the key (which we will also send to everyone) into the enabling device. It is only legal for advanced hams to enable the device in peacetime - but in case of a catastrophy, such as nuclear WW3, anyone can do so. All users can practice receiving with the unit and it is very easy to then proceed to transmitting when the necessity arises. The use of PSK31 is not restricted to advanced hams because it is difficult, (our system is actually the simplest and most reliable system we could design) but PSK31 is restricted by law so as to be a 'reward' for people getting their advanced ham license. 4. The yellow LED is the 'power-on' LED. It is actually redundant because when the power is on either the red TRANSMIT light is on - or the green receive light. 5. Next is the green receive light. If the power is on, either the green receive light or the RED transmit light is on. Both won't turn on simultaneously. Which one is on is determined by the switch described in #1. 6. Next on the edge of the board is the color coded receptor where you will receive the radio signal. You will plug a cord into this and run it to your microphone input on your sound card. On the back of your computer you should have easy access to the sound card jacks. 7. There is an identical receptor of a different color next to the above one. Into this one you will plug a connector that plugs into the speaker outlet on your computer sound board, again on the back of your computer. This is how the signal gets from your computer to be transmitted over the radio. 8. The long black component on the edge of the board and in the bottom corner is the power level indicator. It consists of 5 LEDs and we may replace it with 5 separate LEDs. The power level is indicated by the number of LEDs that are lit. You will control it through your computer User Interface, the SAFE Emergency Messaging System program that will come with the package. 9. Turning the corner of the board and going to the far left end you will see the connector that goes to the antenna. 10. Turning that corner and going to the remaining corner of the board there is the blue connector with two wires (you have to look closely to see more than the red one) which is the power connector - 11. and adjacent to the power connector is a red device which is an automobile fuse - because those would be the simplest to find if you had to replace one. 12. Now for a tour of the major items/components on the board. You can see many ICs, resistors, capacitors, etc., but I won't get into that detail. There are two types of major components that I will mention. 13. The power transistors. There are two larger ones and two smaller ones. Towards the far left of the board you will see a black finned object. This a heat sink with the transistor mounted on it. In actuality the heat sink is much smaller than will be used in production because in production the heat sink will be mounted on the OUTSIDE of the cabinet on top. 14. There is another identical transistor and heat sink just below and to the right of the first - but because of the camera angle the fins of the heat sink appear even less well. 15. And to the right of the previous heat sink you will see two more smaller transistors with their heatsinks. These sort of look like devices with bolts going through them. 16. The other major devices are the Ferrite Torroids (rings with wires wrapped around them). To the right of the big one - and looking down the board you will see three - (the one at the edge is standing vertical and is a little harder to see) and then to its left is another - and on the far edge of the board going up in a row are three more - for a total of seven of these small cores. These are mostly a part of the amplifier and how the radio is tuned. It is tuned to a single crystal so that the user doesn't do any tuning but can through through the software interface on their computer instantly select any one of many frequencies in the PSK31 range on the 80m band that we use. Now, for a little general discussion. We could use different size cores but Dave has suggested that by using the same core for the seven locations - and varying the windings we will be able to buy in greater volume and reduce the cost. In the the bench proto-type we have found four areas where the circuit is generating RF that is interfering with adjacent parts of the circuit so that in the next prototype pass the layout will be somewhat changed to eliminate those conflicts. We are trying to provide a dual component mounting scheme of plated-through holes for easy repair and pad mounting for mass production. We are also planning on a thicker PC board than is customary these days - for extra durability. In our bench test this past weekend - we were able to get the signal all the way through and generate twenty watts - but we only did so briefly because of the heat generation and a frequency anomaly that we were experiencing. Still, this was more than we could have optimistically hoped to accomplish in this single session. Once Bob is able to isolate and correct the frequency anomaly, and we receive additional cores to wind - we hope to complete the other three boards and send one to Dave and another to Adam's professor, for their critique/evaluation/recommendations. Lots more to tell you about the software, the antennas, the documentation, and other aspects - but you can see that we are still working on and making progress. The further along that we get I am astounded how much better the capabilities and suitability of the system are turning out to be over even the original vision. At this point I am probably giving you more detail than you want to know. I have lots of work to do this week on the radio manuals. SAFE Ark Two Newsletter January 6th, 2013 Happy New Year 2013 This newsletter is going to be rushed because I am just so far behind on so many things. Took a day off this week to take my granddaughter for her 20th birthday to see the new (2012) movie musical version of Les Miserables. I go to the rare movie for joyful entertainment so it is a good thing it was a musical or it would have been too depressing for me. The music increased the drama but also was its salvation. I am very glad that I spent an hour studying the plot on Wikipedia before going, otherwise I would not have understood what was going on. I had not seen it before, but now I have seen it at least three times since in my mind's eye. My granddaughter said she enjoyed it, and while I can't be certain about that, I have dreamed about it each night and have thought deeply about it in many ways, of which details I will not go into. However I am going to provide you a link to an entirely different film that is a Propaganda Film by North Korea. As with all propaganda it is based on many accurate facts. On the other hand - it is amazing how it can blatantly ignore the situations in N. Korea that are identical to others that it denounces. More than the pot calling the kettle black. I doubt that it was shown in NK (as it claims). At least not to the general public there. I noted also it made no mention of the Internet - which of course they don't have. Nevertheless, an hour well spent to see a summary of the ills of the West - and the biases of NK towards: freedom of religion Israel freedom of the press The parallels that bother me between the US and NK are: materialism militarism irreligion government manipulation lack of true democracy lack of commitment to helping other countries blindness to world opinion hatred of other groups As much evil as exists in the West, as pointed out in both the NK film and Les Miserables, I must say that I much prefer here than to the atheistic totalitarianism that exists there. Mind you, much of what they attack about religion, I do also. Completely neglecting work on the books/novels this last couple of weeks because of demands of the radio project. Multi-day meeting scheduled this next weekend with Bob and Adam to attempt a bench test and circuit tuning of the four prototype boards. Darlene has also made further progress on the User Interface software but I need to focus on getting rough drafts written of the half dozen accompanying manuals. Much that I could write about regarding where we are standing in mid-air past the fiscal cliff with a chasm looming below us of the 'Debt limit' plus what is happening with the Euro, and in Japan. The Israeli elections are upcoming week after next, along with other happenings there, and of course the Syrian and Iranian situations just plug on along. In the three ring circus that is our world there is also Chavez of Venezuela. Just mentioning all this, so that you don't think I am not aware but I simply have to focus on some of the tasks at hand. Thanks to those of you who took the poll last week, and also to those of you who sent me personal comments. Less than 10% took the poll but the results were: a. The world is about to end - and humankind/society won't survive - and there is no need to worry about any of this. Only 1% - but that figures because generally speaking, what purpose is there in subscribing to a newsletter such as this if one feels that way. This poll certainly doesn't tell us anything about what the general population thinks. b. That Jesus is going to return and establish His Kingdom - so there is no need for us to worry about any of this. Only 7% - and for much the same reasons as the one above. Most people of that inclination can't put up with me and I am very appreciative of those of you who do. c. That the US Constitution was Divinely revealed/inspired and we should simply try to get back to the original intent/purpose. 45% which is almost an even split with those below - and was my main reason for the poll. I am surprised to see that so many still feel that way, especially in the light of the quote from Thomas Jefferson, which I provided. But, I suspected the possibility. d. That the world has radically changed and is about to change even more radically and that we should consider other/new forms of governance in the face of nuclear/modern weapons and the need for world governance/security. 49% Which says that if the poll is representative - that less than half of the readership is really sympathetic with the orientation of this newsletter. It does give me much to ponder - and once again, I thank you for taking the poll. Apologies for the typo regarding my 2014 date in the previous newsletter - but I should point out that the danger is not in that I might be right (that the Great Catastrophe is not going to happen until sometime - it could be years - after July 28th, 2014). The danger is that I might be wrong and that it could happen before. Actually, I am thinking late 2014 or in 2015, but that is just off the wall, because I certainly don't know any dates.
